Which of the Message Settings options is responsible for random event popups? I'm trying to make the game pause on them, but every option I've tried is off the mark, so far.

Edit: By the way, are there any ways to change state religion?

Surrender to religious rebels and you can convert from one christian denomination to another once the reformation starts excluding orthodox. Or be force converted in peace.

Emperor as Brandenburg and Protestant, forcing my religion on those Papists by the end of the musket. Haven't formed Prussia yet due to having CONSISTENTLY awful rulers. I'll probably form Germany before Prussia the way this is going. I might annex Saxony and give the electorate to another of my vassals.

Also you can change the state religion on the religion screen... or am I not understanding the question? Or do you mean in the files?

During gameplay - but neither Sunni or Hindu allow conversion, so I thought you need some special events for that to be an option.

Thanks.

So, nobody knows how to auto-pause on event popups? Constantly watching for them on top game speed is p. annoying.

Whenever you get a popup, on the bottom right of the window there is a button you can click to change the settings for that popup.

I like to have the game paused whenever a battle ends, so I can properly chase after retreating regiments.

I have it set to pause at battle start too, so I can say FFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU on time if I screw up.

Funfact: Colonization is absurdly fucked up.

Colonizing other continents without land connection = You pay 1% coring costs.

Colonizing provinces on your continent or with a land connection to your capital = you pay 100% coring costs.

Not a problem with Portugal or England, but if you are Africa/American/Asian colonizing on your own continent is literally a worthless monarch mana sink, since it costs even more than land taken from other nations (whom you can fabricate cores on).

Thanks Paradox?

Shattered Retreat is absurd, lost a battle and my troops retreated through 5 of my provinces till I finally got control back. Should be able to stop them once there are no enemies in adjacent provinces imo. Same with being unable to move at low morale, wonder what genius had that great idea.

5 provinces? I laugh at your good fortune. Try all of Russia, from the borders of Sweden to Korea. And you can't remove the leader while they do it. Have fun with your 2 general limit empire-wide.

I actually had one even more insane shattered retreat. From Vientane (my province) into Khorat (enemy) back into my territory (Streng Tung, being sieged by doomstack) and then through Viyaja till the unit stopped at Panduranga. That's ridiculous.
They also managed to make assaulting close to worthless, not only costing manpower but also military points and being unable to move once your morale is drained.
And fuck that ugly map, whatever D&T had is so much better.

Ming has horrible problems even fending off rebels, since they have that horrible -25% discipline penalty that rebels won't get.

Yeah, shattered retreats really hurt me as the Aztecs as well. Troops march from Panama to the north of Mexico before they get a grip. It's like Quetzalcoatl is blowing up their asses the whole way. Pretty ridiculous.

Aztec? In my Asia?

It's more likely than you think.

Was blessed with a super-human 6-admin leader, who with a 2-skill advisor got me a solid 9 admin a month for most of my time teching and getting me my first idea by 1507. Sadly my leader was equally super-shitty in diplo, so I don't even have lvl 3 tech meaning my colonization range is literally shit (60). But with basing rights, all is cool. The bigger problem is the other goddamned natives, who all hate me and won't give me basing rights so that I can colonize next to them and then annex them. What horrible people!

Managed to get an alliance with Castille by boosting relations + putting France as a rival. Next colony goes next to them to westernize, then we conquer us some slant-eyes.

-25% o_O Whoever decided that had no clue what discipline does. I just roflstomped Ming (and Manchu) as Korea when they decided to honor their guarantee on Manchu. Sure, it's just normal but it still shouldn't be possible with 14k troops.

It's even worse when you consider that Japan has something like +20% discipline and +20% infantry power.

-25% discipline means -25% casualties inflicted upon the enemy.

Discipline also reduces damage dealt to you.

Overall it's -25% damage dealt out and +33% damage taken. Your total combat power is reduced by nearly 50%.

They did, plus the -25% discipline penalty. It's pretty rough, as I've seen Ming explode in all my games so far.

Fucketh me, never noticed it before. Cheerios.
Aaaand we're back. Turns out, the reason I never noticed the button on random event popups is because there is none. So, back to the original question: how do I auto-pause the shit out of them?

The added challenge of Ming got me interested and I tried them. You can get rid of the 25% discipline penalty really easily, you just have to buy influence with the Temple faction.

More questions time!
Any way to bring back Zoroastrianism to Persia without importing a CK2 game? I tried editing a save by changing the country's religion to "zoroastrianism", but that must not be its proper internal name, because I simply got "nonreligion" in-game.

Zoro religion doesn't exist without save conversion, just like the other non-Judeo-Chrisian religions from CK2. The internal name after conversion is zoroastrian.

EDIT: Also, I'm thinking about making the next version of Europa Uralica alternate scenario start with the broken down members of Uralica, less hassle for me and it adds a complete pagan block of countries to the East.

Heck, I could have extra lollerz and mod HRE to work with the pagans.

It isn't suprising, since there isn't proper internal name for zoroastrianism at all. You need to add it in common\religions. Also you also need to add some graphical files for it, and I don't know can you use ones from CK2 or you need edit them first. Maybe there is also something else, that I forgoten.
And if you want to add it, I advise you not change main game files. Better do it as mod instead.

In the modders section of Paradox forum you should find someone who help you with all that stuff.
