So then, it’ll be “a while.” But what about all that voice casting stuff? Well, somewhat ironically, that’s where Howard clammed up. There is some good news, though. PC has reclaimed its spot at the forefront of gaming’s charge into the future, and Bethesda has absolutely taken notice.

“PC is resurgent,” enthused Howard. “Skyrim did better than we’ve ever done on PC by a large, large number. And that’s where the mods are. That feeds the game for a long time. And it’s exciting that the new consoles are very PC-like. That opens up avenues for us going forward to do things that we’ve wanted to do in the past. There are kind of random ideas we’re working on right now, and it’s like, ‘Wow, I think there’s potential here to do some really cool stuff.’”

:incline: of gaming.

Come on, Infinitron. It's Todd Howard we're talking about here. "tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies" is his motto.

So Todd's said something we can agree with.

It's going to go wrong. I guarantee you this is going to go horribly wrong. Let's theorize how.

"And it’s exciting that the new consoles are very PC-like. That opens up avenues for us going forward to do things that we’ve wanted to do in the past. "

I've got it. Console mods. He's gonna do console mods. A Creation Kit for the console versions.

Bethesda is working on the next Dishonored title. It is their new hot franchise.

Nah, just prettier graphics and possibly less load screens through open cities, towns, campsites. Otherwise it's most likely the same old story: "This is da graziestest and most big thing we've done; and it's totally not just the same game we did previously only with shinier paint, a couple of tweaks and streamlining."

Who knows though, maybe a lightning has for once stroke where it is needed...

No, that would require Microsoft and Sony approval and they won't let things like Loverslab mods on their systems, they don't like third party software messing with their systems as well. the Xbone and Play4 have very basic operational systems capable only of the most fundamental actions (out of the box functions).

This delay is more than expected. Well Fallout 3 was released on 2008 and Skyrim on 2011, that is 3 years of interval with Fallout 4 maybe incorporating new technology for the new consoles, it could mean even more time. Fallout 4 will be released in 2015 or 2016. Anyway, if there aren't news of a New Vegas 2 made by Obsidian, I couldn't give two shits about it.

Consoles already have DLC.

Unless you mean mods made by PC gamers will be sold to the console crowd.

That is what I meant yes.

Why make the DLC, when you can have others make it for you?
I totally can see modders being idiots by being proud with Bethesda selling their mods on the consoles while getting nothing in return for their work.

People that work for free for a company deserve to get shit on.

To be fair, fish AI was lacking in New Vegas. The ones you can meet by jumping into the Colorado River just swim around aimlessly. I would like it if they hired a marine life expert and the fish swam realistically.

Maybe this could be the first Todd-approved mod they sell to consoles.

In all the seriousness, someone at Bethesda takes a fart, it sounds something like Fallout 4 and everyone here loses their minds.
Chill the fuck out, jesus.
If the game ever comes out it can actually be good, theres no reason to believe otherwise.

No reason other than the track record.
Todd-era Bethesda only have three games - Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Skyrim.

Oblivion was a nonstop disaster. This is one of the few issues in which this forum finds itself in near-universal agreement.
Fallout 3, in most people's eyes (on this forum anyway), was a disaster too. Personally I found some stuff to enjoy in there, but a lot of it felt like I was enjoying myself in spite of the game rather than because of it. And the lore-rape is undeniable no matter how much one may like the game, with the main quest somehow managing to be even shittier than Oblivion's.
Skyrim, a few people here liked it, but personally I couldn't really stand it. The lore rape was less than that seen in Oblivion but still there, and the people describing it as "the true sequel to Morrowind" really confused me. Like Fallout 3, 20gb of mods gave me a few hours out of it, but I can't imagine myself returning to it for ages, if ever.

So, we have three games with which to judge Todd-era Bethesda. Two were almost universally (in terms of the Codex) seen as total disasters, and Skyrim managed a few fans but even most of the fans find shit to rip on and place it firmly in "good for what it is" territory.

You're right that a Bethesda-developed Fallout 4 could potentially be decent, but they'd have to get a grip of Fallout lore and improve the gameplay vastly from that of Fallout 3, and I don't see that happening.

There's also the possibility of an Obsidian spin-off, which is something to look forward to. Or the miraculous event of Bethesda giving Fallout 4 over to Obsidian, but that's not gonna happen.
