for what? Games or mods? I don't recall any exclusivity deal.

I could be wrong, I often am and I like to talk shit, but I don't know if this deal is a fact or it's just a coincidence that most Beth games get a Steam release almost exclusively. I mean, you don't see Beth stuff on Origin or Uplay, isn't it? You can buy Witcher 3 or even The Banner Saga 2 on Origin.

most publishers just put their games on steam because it's an easy platform to use for both the consumer and the developer, it's not an exclusivity deal, valve doesn't need to do those.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Also I got myself encumbered. By an extra pound of weight. Guess what? After a minute I had lost a fourth of my hp's. To encumberance. How does this even begin to make sense?

If you are carrying extremely heavy shit you will slowly choke to death since you have to put in considerable effort with every breath and tire out your muscles. Same concept as a crucifixion.

It just started, we'll see in a month where it goes.

I am curious if PC users will be allowed to run just any mod they like by then.

I see you haven't been in the military, or apparently never carried anything heavy. You know how many people died in the military while I was there, carrying stuff beyond their limit, having to take breaks every few seconds? No one. I know not a single case of someone sitting still with a backpack suddenly getting asphyxiated because it was one pound over their capacities.

obviously you don't get "suddenly asphyxiated", you slowly asphyxiate as you haul that shit around. since fo4 and most games abstract everything as damage to one stat called health it's represented in-game as losing health. it's not a simulation bro let it go

The bed=save mechanic alone ensures I'd never use Survival. FO4 is more stable than Oblivion, FO3 or Skyrim at this stage in its lifespan but I've still had too many moments where the game borked itself to trust it.

There is no console anymore, either. It effectively turns it into a (crappy) single-player version of Battlefield or such.

The save mechanic works, if you can call it that. Here, some examples. I explore around Sanctuary, remember there are three bloatfiles at location X. Get jumped, tougher than I anticipated, fair enough. Go back to start. Remember there's an army helmet that's pretty easy to get, but this being Survival you never know. Kill two bloatflies easily enough, ponder going back to save, fuck it, we'll do it live. Die to to two bloodflies or whatever they're called. Start over nigga. I actually returned with a better weapon later and kicked their asses but hey. Explore Concord for the first time, drop two raiders, another one throws a molotov at me and I instadie. Unexpected but ok. Start over. Take the guys down in a barely more tactical fashion, SAVE ON A BED because you never know. Start exploring Concord a little more, enter an interior cell, eventually get stuck where crouching, jumping, walking, sprinting, nothing works. I better console-oh wait. Go back to start. As I say, it works, but you're a retard if you think this is anywhere near an optimal solution. It just becomes a game of where's the bed nigga?

As for the choked like a nigga suffocation method of overencumberance. Give me a day, pay me, and I'll come up with a shitload of better systems than it. Fuck your abstract. Here's one for free I probably appropriated from other media. Hunger goes up faster, thirst goes up faster, strength and endurance suffer, AP suffers, you can't fucking move (you can actually still move in FO4 even if massively overencumbered - go figure).

edit: oh also, I tested the now lowered companion inventory. They can't carry shit. Forget going anywhere to loot random crap anymore, because now you gotta make a shopping list and make several trips back and forth just to keep shit like bottles in stock because you gotta drink.

Wasteland.
Survival Mode basically forces the player to either use the Lone Wanderer Perk, or get really fucking nerdy, and with some miracle, get enough pieces to build your own deathbots that are affected by the Inspirational perk, thus making the entire game turn into "LOL EZMODE", especially if you built a Sentry Bot of death, though honestly, I prefer Lone Wanderer, as the 30% Damage gone makes the fighting 100x easier, That and I don't have to rely on anyone when it comes to lifting shit.

The AI in these games has always been shit so who wouldn't use the Lone Wanderer perk?

Only people with masochistic tendencies dream of playing Bethesda games with companions.

Nah, the Robots or (Modcompanions in older Games) are decent killing machines.

For those still salty about the saving in new survival, there is a mod on nexus that lets you save manually, even in survival mode.
I also strongly suspect that there is an ini-command that would reenable the console in 1.5 but can't be arsed to try out the possible variants.

Holy shit, is Bethesda actually going for the retarded 'spreading the gospel of the church of atom' story line we joked about on page 171?

That was actually there in FO3 already though. Isn't the same kind of cult?
As always, let's wait for the drama.

https://bethesda.net/#en/events/game/fallout-4-far-harbor-trailer/2016/05/04/118

Watch the official trailer for Far Harbor, which will be available worldwide on Thursday, May 19, across Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

In Far Harbor, a new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work toward bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost?

Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that Bethesda Game Studios has ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-level armor and weapons. The choices are all yours.

Stay tuned for more details on even more add-ons to be released in 2016, and on free updates like Mods, which are now available on PC. Mods will be coming to Xbox One players later this month and to PlayStation 4 players in June.

Stephen Russell will also be in the Bethesda-published Dishonored 2, as well as Underworld Ascendant.

Stephen Russell voices Codsworth (your robot butler) and Nick Valentine, a companion. Also voices I think all the Codsworth model robots, except Curie.

Looks like Point Lookout 2.0. With retarded antagonists. The monsters might be more interesting than vanilla F4 though.

Shotgun toting, nuke-tanking hillbilly Synths.

Arrgghh! But on the other hand that means it will probably be the best of FO4's DLC.
