The first time I have played Fallout 2 (and one of the first time I have ever played a cRPG in general) I played as a 180 QI female. And also porn actress.

FO2 really lacked in the realism department

You'd be surprised, i know of a former porn actress which ended up in a radio show being a kind a sex therapist, i'm not sure she ever had a IQ of 180, probably not but she's quite smart nonetheless.
Heck, pretty sure there were porn stars that are members of Mensa and taught in colleges, there was a story of a porn star that acted in 400 porn movies having gotten scolarships, various degrees and winning spelling bees and all that.

Guess the only thing required to be a porn star is...liking sex and being willing to be recorded, it's also worth mentioning that a lot of smart people can like dumb things or have jobs not related to academics, look at Conan O'Brien, guy is a talk show host/comedian and he was genuinely a valedictorian in freaking Harvard, go watch some of his videos where he seems to dance or do silly moves in the intros and just remember the guy was a great student in Harvard, he was even the editor for a Harvard magazine.

And his reaction after Harvard was "Hmm, i will see if i can write for a cartoon about a yellow family and then maybe get a talk show!" which surprisingly happened.

BEFORE you start a New Game

Open the fo1_settings.ini in your fallout 1in2 folder.
Find the portion related to SM invasions
Change it all to at least 300. I recommended 400 so you can choose to deal with it or not in a long play.
If you are antsy and want to deal with it, you can always travel the wasteland and sleep your days away to advance time.
If you set the timer to short, like default people like to set it .... Your game could be fucked up sideways, and charred.

Take my example:
I have done most of the works for the Blades, just need to lead them to attack...
I decide to step out of town a bit (Cathedral).
On return the super mutants had invaded Adytum.
Worse, when i lead the blades to attack, Razor disappear from Downtown, and MacRae doesnt acknowledge that no one alive in Adytum (thus no teaching).

I have decided to reload an earlier save. But this means Boneyard's day is numbered, and I lose access to two merchants here, which is a major loss, considering Gunrunners can absorb a lot of my loots.

EDIT: in my 2nd game I just disable it like default.

Been trying to play it with WINE. Installs fine, but starting the game loads up Fallout 2 assets. Main menu is Fallout 2 and starting a new game drops you at the Temple in Arroyo.

Or don't touch it at all and there won't be any invasions. They are disabled by default.

I think you gotta move directly to folder, run the exe there.

The 1st time I run, I use the default shortcut on desktop and taskbar... It run Fallout2.

Create a shortcut link to, for example, C:\Games\Fallout2\Fallout1in2\fallout2.exe, and use a different icon to differentiate it.

Try this icon http://www.mediafire.com/file/fyxavlirvenubpn/fallout1in2twist.ico/file

Yeah, the folder structure is like that. Have a Fallout1in2 folder inside the main Fallout2 folder were I run the exe from. Already tried extracting the Fallout1in2 folder contents directly into the Fallout2 folder and same shit. I guess it has to do with filesystem case sensitivity again (it was always a problem with some Fallout mods and Linux).

Man~ I make the mistake of giving Ian that grease gun... He start bursting me, doggie, and anyone stand in the way of his barrel and target.

Katja got riddled with bulletholes, since she's quite a few level behind the others.
Dude, youve been in the codex since fucking 2007, how do you not know not to give Ian a burst fire gun?

I've never put much attention to what this retard Lilura was saying but Fallout is my favourite game ever and when I'm reading that a noob like her says she's an expert on this game and spouts her retarded shit, I'm triggered. She has no arguments but she still argues, typical woman (or man pretending to be a woman).
I think you need to grow thicker skin.

Because, there has been several serious fixpack since then. I would have thought his tendency got fixed long ago~ Guess it's something hardcoded into Ian...

On the other hand, I forgot to customize his Custom, so I dont know if it was changed or not.

EDIT: I still havent checked if his tendency can be controlled in Custom option.

Since I can give him a Plasma pistol and forget about it~

This can be done as early as Necropolis~

EDITY EDIT: Indeed the Custom "Be absolutely sure you wont hit me" seem to work. Anyone in the party could get burst in the back at reasonable rate of occurrence, and the rate of companions using 1shot instead of burst does rise.

Note: the small mod that come with the f1n2 , turning Dogmeat into Robodog is super useful.

Pro: the dog can activate light and you have two moving light sources, yourself and robodog.

Con: Dogmeat change into Robodog, visually.

Since there's nothing else change (aside from light) this improve game quality . A lot of areas is pretty dark, and flare can run out, overpace its acquisition.

I am turning off the mod that use classic F1 worldmap (so it has name of zones) and Interface Upscaled (because I only play in 800x600). This is editted in ddraw.ini
PatchFile2=mods\fo1_classic_worldmapADDINGTHISPARTHERETODISABLEIT
PatchFile3=mods\InterfaceUpscaledADDINGTHISPARTHERETODISABLEIT
PatchFile6=mods\fo1_robodog

The two is on by default, and the robodog is NOT in so you have to work to change it.

Just comment out the lines with a ; in front if them. This way the game won't try to load a mod folder that doesn't exist.

And I do a full restart on this Luck2 Jinxed Unarmed Gifted build.

This time no invasion, because fuck being unable to shops.
This time no invasion, because fuck being unable to complete quests whenever I damn well please.
Sure sure, I did enable invasion myself. Damn fool move that is.
I can continue the old game, obviously, but why torture myself?
--------
Weirdly enough, this time this build is waaaaaaay unluckier than the last. The last time we mostly get crit missed and lose next turn. This time we are veering on the edge of several crippling events.

Lexx Is modded additional content optional, such as the motorcycle? IE if I wanted to play stock-fucking-vanilla F1 with a bug free experience and no deathclaw mother listed as “he” in the combat log (one of those TeamX map fixes..), can I do it?

I heartily recommend the motorcycle mod. It's on by default, and accessible in Necropolis. Get the bike soonest, because then:
1. You will have the trunk to store loots. The which can be quite considerably weighty, what with the mutants packing.
2. You can have the bike to move faster. Good, because if you had fucked around, possibly at that time the water limit would have been about to run out. You might be forced to run like lightning back to Vault 13.
The "good" path has tiny reward, so might as well be mercenary a customer. 2000 is standard price anyway.

I know, I know. Move like a two-leg brahmin (or a murderhobo) is so Fallout1-esque. But let me utter a common saying among bikers:

"Because fuck pedestrians, right?"

I just checked the files - Mother Deathclaw critter is set as female. In my test in the map it also reads as "she" in message log.

You can disable almost any such change in the /config/fo1_settings.ini file.

However, keep in mind that it will still not be 110% pure Fo1... but as close as it gets.

Hm, i do recall an inconsistency in one of the battle message where she was referred as "he", maybe in a message about a critical strike. Testing will take some time, as i've dealt with her already and i'm running a 1 save file game unfortunately.
