As the year comes to a close, this seems to be a shitty year for games.
with exception for games like shadow of the erdtree ,stellar blade and frostpunk 2

Game of the year:
Stalker 2

Legacy Of Kain: Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered

Dragon's Dogma II was the sole diversion in what has been a pale and unamusing season.

It's been a fantastic year, actually.
I nominate Chrono Ark, Withering Rooms, Hollowbody and Zephon.

It's definitely been the worst year for gaming in some time. They've been an awful lot of "meh" to average games but precious little to get excited about.

My game of the year is Drova. Persona 3 Reload was okay as well. I also had fun with Eternights but this was released in 2023 and only the Switch port was released this year.

2024 is certainly one of the worst years in gaming history. Did you know that the number of fired people is almost double of that of 2023? Good news.

Only game I really kept my attention focused on this year was the upcoming KCD 2.

Played a few new games in 2024 out of which it's worth to mention two: Fallen Aces and We Who Are About to Die. Unfortunately both are early grift type. Shocker. But WWAAtD is worth it for gameplay even in early access, it's fun action rogue like gladiator sim and you get what you expect from it. Fallen Aces got potential for greatness... by 2030 when the full version is out. Still one of the most impressive games i played lately.

The rest was just old quality stuff.

Dragon's Dogma 2 and Stellar Butt. It's not even a competition.
Was the butt really that stellar? I mean, Koreans aren't known for their butts
The game got shilled hard before launch because it was so NON-WOKE AND SEXY and once it launched it went completely off the radar. I WONDER WHY.
Probably hurt the game that it was PS5 exclusive but some of the more reasonable reviews I read said the game felt like a compilation of elements copied from better games. Ouch

Dragon Age Veilguard was the most entertaining game for me by far this year.

As for games I actually played, pickings are looking meager.

Skald was ok, but not exactly something that blew me away.
Balatro had great design, but it's borderline piss easy.
Spess Mehrines 2 had cool cutscenes but the combat was super unsatisfying.

What a meh year.

Skald had a limited scope and achieved exactly what the dev intended within it, which is much more than you can say about other games this year.
