Strange enough, this reminds me of Secret World Tokyo expansion, exploring Tokyo while the place is dominated by japanese demon spirits sounds as cool as a concept as it was on Shin Megami Tensei 2, that is the interesting part, problem is that I'm seeing some quite slow combat and popamole takedowns on those videos.

Silent Hill 4's game director and lead writer Suguru Murakoshi is working on this game as a game designer.

Hopefully there's a lot more enemy variety in the full game. The showcase was full of umbrella salarymen and highschool girls. The two linchpins of Japanese culture I guess.

Game should probably have a lot of monsters. From what I can tell it seems to be a mix of urban legend and Japanese folklore. Like, the tall woman (which I'd guess is who the tall woman in the most recent Residwnt Evil game is based on) seems to be a mix of 8 Feet Tall and Slit-Mouth. Umbrella guy seems to be Slinderman. There's some Noh mask characters. The Yellow Raincoat and Headless Girls might be a mix of a few different things. Seems like the monsters are mostly meant to be modern things from the Internet. Probably gonna have a lot of Creepypaste monsters. Based on the trailers it almost seems like a Digital Devil Story type thing (also Gantz, and what some of the second season of Mob Psycho 100 did) where the monsters are mostly things that actually come from the Internet.

How far would you go to save a city in turmoil? Following a mass vanishing of Tokyo’s population and otherworldly beings breaking into our reality, an unlikely duo works together to uncover the truth and confront the malevolent force encroaching the city in Ghostwire: Tokyo, launching March 25 for PlayStation 5.

Was looking forward to it, but looks kinda shit. Very slow and all those fancy animations basically amount to nothing. Stealth is basic, ai is retarded, side quests look boring, too bad Mikami didn't get around to making another TEW

Shame, I was looking forward to it. The AI should be far more aggressive than it looks in all the gameplay I've seen so it's not just that IGN video that looks crap. I'll buy it after the AI gets a couple more passes.

At first I wanted to get a Silent Hill type of feeling from this, then I see the gameplay trailer and apparently you're just running around shooting ghosts with fireballs. Yawn?
Almost two years later and it still seems there is really nothing here except Pretty Explosions: The Game. A brain dead console shooter with a cool setting is still a brain dead console shooter.

Definitely waiting for the reviews/player feedback. The AI seems to spend lots of time dancing around but not much time actually attacking...

It's probably been said before, but this looks like a japanese-flavored ubisoft game.

Well yes, it does look like a checklist of usual open world tropes. But the setting is interesting and the setting is what decides me on these games: Far Cry Blood Dragon and primal were interesting to me but I have zero interest in another FC set on Generic Action Movie Tropical island.
Someone here mentioned that they were reminded of SMT and i get some of that vibe. It's like how in SMT3 you have clean, ultramodern urban Japanese environments only desolate and you encounter only demons and shades of formerly living.

In Ghostwire: Tokyo, players tune into their sixth sense as they uncover the root of a supernatural conspiracy responsible for nearly all of Tokyo’s population vanishing in an instant. Now players can immerse themselves further in the beautifully haunted cityscape visited by creatures of myth and urban legend with the release of the Ghostwire: Tokyo’s official soundtrack!

Enjoy this official YouTube upload of the Ghostwire: Tokyo OST, complete with exclusive pixel screensaver art courtesy of Ultimate Pixel Crew.

His takeaway is p much what most people seemingly expected, formulaic open world design with very attractive setting.
The combat is what looks most disappointing to me, I pretty much took it for granted that since promos were playing on the elemental nature of your powers they would have element specific effects, like freezing enemies, putting them on fire, combining various effects. There is none of that. Also, there being no way to move any faster during combat is p disappointing, I guess everyone who complained about the slowness in gameplay vids is vindicated. But there are other things that could be due to him not being very good or missing some important stuff, he admits that he failed to use one important mechanic (those talisman things) until the very end even though they were present all the time.

Gggman has a... particular taste that I disagree 50% of the times with, I will test this one out when it is on the fitgirl store.

Reviews seem decidedly lacklustre. Guess I'll wait till it comes out next year on Gamepass after the PS5 exclusivity ends to give it a whirl.

Not like I've finished Elden Ring yet in any case...
