Some people like redundancy in their backup systems, I am sure many of us have multiple copies of the games on disc but did not bat an eye at buying them on GoG or Steam again. Don't see why his actions are worthy of mockery beyond sending monies to the filthy frenchman who ruined the series. Kind of sad but giving money to Herve is kind of preferable to giving it to Zenimax.

Redundancy in backup systems? Haha... okay. There's a difference between getting it on GOG or Steam so you don't have to fuck with the disc anymore and getting it on GOG and Steam so... uh... I have no fucking idea why anyone would ever do that. That's the point.
Well I own Neverwinter Nights 2 both on Steam and on GOG. The reason for that is that I owned every other D&D games on GOG, and I couldn't bear that one of them is missing from my GOG collection. :) But apart from that.....yeah, I don't buy games on both sites. But I slowly try to move my disc based games onto GOG (and Steam), because disc can broke.

The GOG version of NWN2 comes with that last expansion, mysteries of westgate or whatever, while the steam version didn't. Why was NWN2 removed from steam, in the first place?

Bethesda being so anal about DRM they won't even sign a quick continuation contract is pretty weird. Maybe they dislike GOG's business for some other reason.

I almost feel like playing my DRM free versions of Morrowind and Oblivion again out of spite.

Oh yes, that was also a point for the GOG version.

GOG official statement about their website going prosper (from Facebook, 11 hours ago):

We're currently experiencing server issues due to the highest traffic ever noted on GOG.com. We did anticipate much interest in our 2013 DRM-Free Winter Sale, as well as our Fallout 1,2, & Tactics giveaway, but the number of visits exceeded our highest expectations by far. And we mean FAR. For today, we've prepared double the number of servers that were needed to support our highest day in traffic to date, but it turned out to be not nearly sufficient. We're working on quadrupling our server supply, now.

We're terribly sorry for all the inconvenience you might encounter today, while visiting GOG.com store. If you're new to the site, rest assure that this is far from our day-to-day standards. We're working around the clock until all the problems are fixed, and everyone can enjoy everything we have to offer. If you've encountered any problems, please give it some time. Most issues will be resolved automatically, soon, as the first batch of extra servers is coming on-line right now. If you're affected by something more serious, please be assured that our support team will assist you and fix whatever needs fixing.

Again, we apologize for the user experience, that is not up to our usual standards.

This Fallout giveaway is fucking fantastic. Biggest wish is that bros that do get the three free games actually play atleast the first two.
I own the pack already but did message a few people about the giveaway. Really awesome present from GoG.

I got the new Lo Wang game and Expeditions from the sale, I know Expedítions got some brofists from Codexers but got the SW on pure impulse. Hoping for some good one-liners atleast.

I already bought these on the Herve special CD... but since GoG is so kind to give them away and they updated their servers to handle the load, I picked them up.

Feels pretty good man. Can't wait for the day New Vegas goes on GoG. A fool can dream...

Oh well, it wont be the first or last shitty purchase I made. I'll start it tonight so I'll check if its worth investing a few hours atleast.

Some of us thought it was pretty decent, though flawed. Bump the thread when you have some thoughts.

King of Dragon Pass... if you don't mind the fact the developer keeps adding more content to the iOS version but ignores the PC version. Still, good game.

Bullfrog pack purchased. Its gonna be a Magic Carpet weekend.

Edit: If you are on the fence about Magic Carpet - it has stood up surprisingly well over time. Graphics aside, which were never its strong suit anyway, it plays fucking great.

The developer, David Dunham, stated that they lost the source code and the game used some obscure and obsolete IDE, hence the reason he isn't able to add content to the PC version.

It can't be *that* much work to port the iOS version to PC. :rpgcodex:

Funny story: I bought Fallout 1 & 2 last year during the Christmas sale but found that I still had the CD version so I asked GOG to change my order for two other games. Now I grabbed them for free in case I ever lose/break my CD's.
