Was POD a good game? I remember when it first came out, but I can't even recall if I played it.

Also, I recall some people saying FarCry 2 was a decent sandbox game. Still true?

I was thinking of buying Rainbow Six and Far Cry 2, but Rainbow Six lacks the expansions and Far Cry 2 is supposed to be shit (is it?), so I guess I'll pass on this one.
Splinter Cell (my worst buy ever), Ghost Recon, Far Cry (not played yet) and all the Might&Magic games I already own.
All in all, I thought UbiSoft's catalogue would be bigger than this.

Make the Codex Great Again!
I hope the reason why nobody's mentioned buying Incubation/Battle Isle is because you guys already have it.

Almost missed this one!
I'll get Battle Isle Platinum just for Incubation.
What about Battle Isle series, any good?

BI1 is nice, but the controls are a bit iffy. It's still a very good wargame, but I recommend you start with BI2200 (BI2) instead, since it builds on everything that's present in BI1. Besides there's not much of a plot to both games anyway (practically none in BI1). Gameplay is a cross between SSI's General series and Advance Wars. There's also some micromanagement present, in the sense that you have to watch your units' ammo and fuel levels, which is really neat.

I don't like BI3. The FMVs are awful (seriously), sprites are even worse than in BI2, and you can't see your opponent move during his turn, which is the game's biggest problem. The interface is also one big mess. You get used to it after a while, but it lacks the smoothness of BI2.

(I thought to expand on the gameplay of BI2, hence the multiple edits, but eh screw it. There's too much to cover. Fortifications, weather, terrain, supply lines, alternate attacks, specific unit functions... pretty much everything you'd expect to be in a wargame is in there. Best to let you discover it for yourself ;))

According to that, yes, apparently it is, but some argue for it, but even reading through the usual Codex cynicism doesn't paint a pretty picture. I must have been thinking of a different game.

Still, $3 bucks is dirt.
I bought it for $2.50 at amazon. It's not worth $2.50.

Its not worth a TPB bandwith.

Oh it's an okay game, come on now. Good? I don't know. The respawning enemies certainly grate and the fucking lack of any ability to hide what-so-ever makes tactics a lost cause, but... it's still an open world shooter with some great effects and weapons, beautiful world and some fun to be had. For the price it can often be found at now-a-days it's a no-brainer.

I was rejected and I have doubts about being on GoG (mostly because they'd want to sell it for dirt cheap and it doesn't mean it wouldn't be buried out of sight like it is on another platform I'll refrain from naming, who actually asked me to link to my product there to bring them customers). But I did apply and if I didn't have doubts it wouldn't have mattered since UW was rejected before price was even an issue. It seems pretty much final since writing in again with a ~200 strong wishlist entry got me no answer. Oh well. I like to think my doubts were founded and that therefore it's all for the best.

Anyone play this one? http://af.gog.com/en/gamecard/retro_city_rampage?as=1649904300 I saw it hyped up a bit here and there and was surprised by the price tag. Alsio that Harvey thing at $18... Maybe Gog's policy changed a bit on that front. Or it's just RPGs that have to cost under $10. Perhaps Gog staff thinks lowly of RPGs. But they make Witchers. Incomprehensible.

GOG is beyond any help. I wrote them an email asking about the recent explosion of Kickstarter/Indiegogo projects and suggesting they jump at them because I missed a few good Kickstarter deadlines etc. The email had the word Kickstarter like 5 times in it. This was the reply:

I'm afraid that I can't comment on whether or not we'll be releasing certain titles. I can only assure you that we're doing everything possible to get our hands on the best good games, both old and new.
Unfortunately the process is very complex and difficult. Not all publishers wish to sell their back catalog, not all can be convinced that "no DRM" is a good idea, and sometimes it's just plain impossible to research who (if anyone) has the rights to a certain title. Getting an old game to work on modern systems often proves to be the easiest task.
Check out this Q/A video, featuring one of my superiors - Marcin Iwinski, for a first-hand view of how it works:

Finally, please stay tuned and check out our news page every week for new release info.

That seems like a quick cut'n'paste job and not serious reply.
