Yea the first level is literally just run from start to end. It's fine for an intro I suppose, but it basically functions as a cut scene.

Finally got Death Wish for Blood working. I couldn't get it to run the GOG version, but I purchased on Steam and it runs no problem with only a minor tweak to the ini files. Supposedly this mod is a proper Blood 2. From watching Gggman's review it looks pretty difficult and Blood is a hard game to begin with.

Legacy of Heroes is excellent!
https://www.doomworld.com/vb/wads-mods/72287-the-legacy-of-heroes-ready-for-final-release/
Ten sublimely detailed maps with rarely seen fantasy theme (textures from Heretic, Hexen and Eternal Doom are put to extensive use) that veries between standard medieval and latter on antique theme, only exception being early maps that very between tech and outdoor environs.

They are challenging but never frustrating and never slide into slaughter territory. They are rather varied in size, but most tend to be heavy on exploration and some can be quite large and partially non-linear. Map 8 in particular is a site to behold: huge fortified city with incredible attention to detail, over whom looms imposing lighttower.

They don't know what was previous series made by From Software?
King's Field. Inspired by Ultima Underworld first person RPGs adventures (and similar first person games like The Abyss, Dark Tower etc that were made next.), hard like nail.
You could die in KF4: Ancient City right at the beginning after two steps forward. Just do one and floor crumble under your feet and you might survive. Unlikely.
ps. Dork Sulz is overrated like fug and community is the worst.

I know of them, but I never played them.

But this is clearly trying to chanel DS, from bonfires and rolling to UI and sound effects.

BTW, speaking of dungeon crawlers, Inquisitor 3 TC for Doom is apparently a full blown one, something previous one only toyed with. Sadly, there are still no mentions of English translation.

*tries Blade of Agony's standalone version, antivirus triggers and labs the whole thing as infected. Tries regular edition, can't make it work, something about 'missing lines'* :decline:

Has anyone managed to make it work? Just to know.

You are using the very latest dev build of GZDoom, I presume?
Also, If you're using any sort of universal effects or gore mods (nashgore, ketchup etc), remove 'em.

Tried that. Now it works. *incline*

Unfortunately, while it's certainly an impressive mod, it has "modern" elements that shouldn't be here (like reloading, stamina to limit your running speed, low movement speed outside of sprinting...). :decline:

Still better than NuDoom though.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
(like reloading, stamina to limit your running speed, low movement speed outside of sprinting...)

You can turn unlimited sprint in cheat section of enh. options. Reloading didn't bother me, the density of enemies per maps were clearly meant for that and not to squash you like a bug.

You can also activate automatic reloads, and reduce recoil. Though, to be honest, you'll never get this to play like a baseline Doom TC.

It is p enjoyable btw. I'm up to Paris map right now, both interiors and exteriors feel like tributes to maps from Operation Rheingold. It is needless to say that it looks spectacular.
