Seems like this might be the most suitable thread for this.
Recently Kevin Schilder, Raven Software's composer, revealed the titles for the music tracks in Heretic: https://doomwiki.org/wiki/Heretic_music
Also, since it's likely that the music was composed on Sound Blaster AWE32 ("Intended" Hexen Sound Canvas Music? - Everything Else - Doomworld), it's worth mentioning that AWE64 recordings of the tracks have recently appeared on YouTube. The instruments sound the same as in older AWE32 recordings which are also on YouTube, but the audio quality is better. There is a bit of crackling in some tracks, especially on the chorus, which appears in exactly the same way on both cards, so perhaps AWE32 wasn't the one, but since the game has General MIDI support, the suggestion in the Doomworld thread that the music was composed for OPL seems dubious (Sound Blaster 16 was the preceding model and it certainly doesn't sound better: https://youtu.be/eZT4W7FL4R0?list=PLFFA9A564103330CE). At any rate, the tracks do sound better than on Roland SC-55 and none of the instruments are subdued:
