Watched the video and now I understand why the dude put 'queer' in his username.

Josh Strife Plays: Was it Good? – Mirror's Edge (57 minutes)

I've noticed this YouTuber has started inserting himself into his videos, as if he were some sort of TV presenter, while the game footage plays in the background. It's a bit strange.

Never liked the guy, but this is just the standard successful YouTuber arc. Many of these guys turn into complete egomaniacs after making it. Expect him to have a some sort of mental health collapse at some point. Many such cases.

Usually when they start inserting their "amazing" real life personality and face to the videos, I unsubscribe instantly. I think Game Maker's Toolkit is one of the more recent channels where this happened.

Wouldn't surprise me. I think I'm gonna end up unsubscribing too if it becomes a regular thing (the Mirror's Edge vid is the only one I've seen where he's adopted this new style of presenting). It's just shifts viewer's attention away from the game-related stuff.

Mirror's Edge wasn't that good, but it's still entertaining. You can beat it in an afternoon. The music is good if you like that vibe. Parkouring and avoiding combat is still a novel concept. That's about it I'd say. That game did not need a sequel.

soon
after so many years

turns out he got list of games, just like Mandalore
Which is bold considering that it takes him years to make video... in older, better times - even with Patreon if might be near impossible to make them in those dire times
So the next one is one of the Dawn of War 1-2 mods or Legacy of Kain Blood Omen

I actually kind of like that Josh guy, seems to have a little more insight than normal. Usually I see a lot of youtube videogame retards doing 2-3 hours of lore or "I like game because game good". Looks like Josh has gone to therapy.

A pretty cool guy who also streams from time to time. Really likes classic games and reviewing them.
Videos show a lot of polish and effort put into their making, no half assed typical Youtube content.
Also check out his Fallout retrospective.

Mr. Strife's main channel is called Josh Strife Hayes where he now focuses on MMORPGs, Josh Strife Plays is his secondary channel where he does long form playthroughs/reviews of 'classic' games. If you look at his early videos he's been streaming for years while showing his face, even done daily vlogs (lol). Pretty sure the dude is/was an (theatre?) actor so he's used to presenting himself. He toned down his appearances in his videos throughout the years so not sure why he's decided to start showing up again.

Despite his looks and profession he really is a nerd - he played tons of MMORPGs and posted a bunch of guides for them. I'd say he knows his stuff and makes generally informative videos. Although a prestigious codexer might not learn anything new, he does a good job at explaining stuff like how f2p games are manipulative to normies. One criticism I have is that he tends to repeat himself too often, making his videos a bit bloated.

Another year without Twitcher 3 review from newly recruited weeb Joseph Canadian

The Witcher 3 video will be released one week after the most recent person finishes reading this comment. Right now that means you.
I'll believe when it happen.
