I skipped around (not slogging through 8 hours) and it's boring as shit. Starfield doesn't lend itself to the already questionable longform analysis format. You can also tell while listening that he had no real enthusiasm for the project and the video only exists because of previous Bethesda videos on the channel.

He previously had a problem where his videos were split into clear segments where he would just read a fan wiki for a certain faction or quest line for a couple of hours. This video flows a lot better since he is now intertwining the quest and plot descriptions with other criticism.

Mr. Strife's main channel is called Josh Strife Hayes where he now focuses on MMORPGs, Josh Strife Plays is his secondary channel where he does long form playthroughs/reviews of 'classic' games. If you look at his early videos he's been streaming for years while showing his face, even done daily vlogs (lol). Pretty sure the dude is/was an (theatre?) actor so he's used to presenting himself. He toned down his appearances in his videos throughout the years so not sure why he's decided to start showing up again.

Despite his looks and profession he really is a nerd - he played tons of MMORPGs and posted a bunch of guides for them. I'd say he knows his stuff and makes generally informative videos. Although a prestigious codexer might not learn anything new, he does a good job at explaining stuff like how f2p games are manipulative to normies. One criticism I have is that he tends to repeat himself too often, making his videos a bit bloated.

He used to be a school teacher and got popular streaming rune scape to kids didn't he? He constantly gives shitty life advice and intentionally tries to act like a father figure to his audience. He's very parasocial and gives off creepy vibes. The same way Boogie used to. Too 'nice' and fake persona.



Obeoshoes. Reasonably funny youtuber revived his second channel for Starfield long play. Now he uses it to upload his streams when he plays indie games and complete garbage that barely functions. Here he's playing a knock off Home Alone game with an accurate house to the movie and you're clearly playing as kevin.

I give him credit in admitting he sucks at games and won't be able to critique it in the gameplay department. But, making a two hour video about Quake's story is something that even storyfags will be disgusted by.
