grrr thety wipe out my caracter :(
I am pretty sure there are not wipes unless it is a bug.

If you switch to Steam cloud saves game no longer checks your local folder and it might seem like you lost your characters.

By the way, they do something amazing with the engine, before the latest update the max FPS i get was 40 and go down with crowns, now is always with the vsync (60 hz).

Just so people know, it actually does check a local directory when you have cloud saving on, it just syncs your save files to
...\Steam\userdata\[folder of numbers]\219990\remote\save
instead of to the My Documents directory. You can copy the saves out of there to 'transfer' them off the steam cloud.

Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire
Wtf, I can't really start teh gaem.
It starts in some kind of window mode blocking about half of the screen but is entirely black. After a couple of seconds the music starts playing and the mouse "cursor" appears, but nothing else.
What the heck am I supposed to do to fix this shit?
Ain't happenin on no other game.

[Edit]Ah, okay, had to run Repair.exe. Seems to be working now.[/Edit]

Very first impression: usually I'm a story fag and was totally afraid of combat heaviness (that's also due to the fact that I suck at combat generally). But it seems to be real fun until now.
Made me forget that I have to work early tomorrow. :)

PS: These "Granted skills" from weapons work automatically, right? I don't have to do anything to activate them!?

It depends. Often you need to use them. Click on your bar, the 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 at the bottom, and you should have the granted skills there.

But some are just passives that have a chance to automatically happen.

Generally if it works automatically it will specify x% chance on attack/hit/crit/whatever, and will not have an energy cost. Some items/components grant auras which take a constant amount of your energy to maintain, while some grant active abilities (most weapon components do this).

So I finally got out my level 35 Nightblade again and respecced it some. Took Blitz from Soldier. Now I've got 4 main skills: Blitz, Shadow Strike, Ring of Steel and Blade Burst. Making shit explode while zipping around like a boss. Can't wait to get Spectral Strike and Chaos Strike for more mobility :yeah:

No the skills you get from, say, augmenting a weapon or possibly from a relic can be anything. They can be an aura you activate or a straight up attack you use or they can be passively triggered procs.

Well looks like the wait is finally nearing its end. It's been almost 5 years since I stumbled upon this game. Time to find out if you fucks have beta-tested this properly for me. :)

Any thoughts on the drop rate? Were they tweaked at all? I'm busy playing other games to try it out for myself.

Got 3 nice legendaries and 3 nice plans from Fort Ikon surroundings and Stairs of Torment in 5 total hours yesterday night at elite difficulty. Felt better than before. (or RNG gods were with me!) 2 of them were super upgrades for my dual pistol commando.

Haven't checked my arcanist or summoner for ultimate yet though. Hurray for hellhound change btw.

Q for you hardcore ELITE bros. Do you guys still use, or have at all sued, Veteran? What exactly does it do aside from mixing up the mobs? Do you prefer to play on higher difficulties with or without Veteran. THANKS! I'm thinking of going "normal" since I'm doing Hardcore and I've gotten some close calls in SoT.

Veteran Harcore is very hardcore. Veteran ups the difficulty a lot, I die lots on it (or at least some) but it is more fun. On Normal Hardcore you cannot really die unless you fuckup a lot (by falling asleep because it is too easy).

First of all veteran is only for normal difficulty, higher diffculties don't have that option.
Normal become too easy too fast. There will be a huge difficulty spike if you move to elite from normal.
