I think skill and item systems are def more complex and offer more build options than TL2.

So dis gaem is digital only, right?
Also, do I remember correctly that while being absolutely combat focused it still has some c&c?

Its an ARPG. But you can do some stuff like choose a faction and once you do the other faction becomes any enemy that will attack you etc. Don't really fall into the trap that is something even vaguely like AOD C&C or anything. There are a few things but don't get overly excited about that part.

C&C is very minor. For example you can choose which blacksmith will help in town, later you can help one npc or betray for more reputation with another faction. Its really just a minor thing.

Well it has more C&C than Bg1, IWD1 and 2 and probably more than BG2.

I think I'll buy it. At least minor c&c. That pretty much seals the deal for me from all I'm seeing.
No disc-version available, amirite?
No disc version.
The biggest C&C is toward the end of the game where you can
either unlock a new, very useful faction + quest line, or unlock an otherwise unavailable dungeon.

It's not more complex

Having played both pretty thoroughly, that's just not correct.

GD is more complex in many ways when compared to TL2. The mastery mix, with devotion layered over it as a subsidiary specialization system;, coupled with unique item skills... TL2 has nothing like it. Character building in TL2 is a much simpler affair.

For those on the fence: this is a genuinely excellent game for anyone who enjoys ARPGs. It's what Diablo 3 should have been (even compared to the far improved 2.4 version on the game).

If I can echo what Neanderthal said, is this game good if you didn't like Titan Quest? I liked Torchlight and Diablo 2, but I wasn't much of a fan of Titan Quest. Oh, and I'm not much of a multiplayer guy.

Make the Codex Great Again!
I didn't like TQ and I've clocked in 40+ hours (and counting) on Grim Dawn. It's been a while since I played TQ, so I can't specifically say what it was that I didn't like beyond the fact that combat felt bland. I should revisit it one day. But back to GD, combat is far more meaty than TQ (a sentiment that's been echoed by other monocled gentlemen here) and the class progression is really fun. I made a new character last night and within 2 hours I was at level 10. At that level, you would've been able to experience some of the game's important subsystems at the superficial level, including Devotion and dual-classing, and have a rough idea of what playstyle you want to go for. Later on there are other things to do like crafting. Even at over 40 hours, I still have yet to come across all of the things that the game has to offer, including Legendaries which supposedly offer even more build-defining opportunities.

TL;DR: Game is fucking awesome if you're looking for one that lets you create and experiment with new builds. I still think it could do better in the mobility department (which is outshined by PoEx), but I really think this is one of the most amazing ARPGs out there atm for the sheer number of ways to kill monsters.

To echo udm. Titan Quest's combat was stunted by the poor design decisions of an executive meddling where they shouldn't have. They weren't allowed to have much violence at all to the combat. And everything looked and felt like you were in a clean room. Sterile and also a tad unnecessary because of it. This game has far more impactful combat. Enemies react better to your hits, and your timing in your hits just feels better. The combat is basic for a ARPG at first, but that's because the real synergies build over time. And once you start getting your second class, it's quick to realize that there's potential for synergy with almost every class combination. Though some are harder to find or later in the tree's than others. This is massively better than Diablo 3, and somewhat better than Torchlight and Torchlight 2. The only games I think come close to or exceed the build variety in this game, are either Titan Quest itself, or the venerable Path of Exile. Both of which suffer from other issues.

The game just plays and feels fantastic for an ARPG. And provided you maintain on curve, only the bosses really seem to suffer from HP bloat.

my only complain is that sometimes when using firearms the bullets don't reach the enemy because they are suck in an imaginable wall. It think this is due to elevation difference but still I thought that this bug will only be in EA.

Using ranged weapon has few problems, it is why I stopped using any builds that depend on projectiles getting to enemy. Too frustrating.

There was nothing interesting about the ranged weapon builds anyway. It just felt like I was playing a variation of a caster due to how heavily you need to load up on magic damage and effects in order to make that shit work.

Yea, for ranged builds Amazon from D2 still reigns supreme.

It's awful in the 90s way though. It sounds like the voice acting from Strife if I had to compare it something. That makes it so awful it's awesome.
