It's awful in the 90s way though. It sounds like the voice acting from Strife if I had to compare it something. That makes it so awful it's awesome.

No it doesn't. It's so awful it's bad.

So can I assume this is a Diablo clone done right? Unlike Blizzards Auction House Simulator, which they called Diablo 3?

Having played both pretty thoroughly, that's just not correct.

GD is more complex in many ways when compared to TL2. The mastery mix, with devotion layered over it as a subsidiary specialization system;, coupled with unique item skills... TL2 has nothing like it. Character building in TL2 is a much simpler affair.
GD seems complex, but it fucks itself over. It has 16 damage types, OMG SO COOL!. 21 archetypes, I'M SO WET. Then you mix them and you realize the pointless damage types that are tied into the skill trees severely limit your choices (unless you deliberately want to do a bad build). And whoever designed the devotion UI probably played Skyrim as his first game.

For the same reason (pointless damage types) the loot is less rewarding than early self found PoE.

Then there's the 'fun' design decision to make most melee skills auto-attack procs, which means you have a bunch of skills that add about 0 complexity to the gameplay. Ranged gameplay didn't really cut it either so you are left with a great complexity of spell casters.

I never played Titan's Quest, what's the difference between Diablo and Titan's Quest then?

There share so many similarities TQ is essentially (and intentionally) a Diablo clone.

Similarities:

-Multi act campaign that can be repeated in higher difficulties that carries over your characters progression
-Detailed character building via classes, skills, and attributes
-Heavily focused on action and killing hordes of monsters in order to find loot and level up
-Similar camera perspective
-Similar controls
-Detailed item system with randomized loot, set items, uniques, etc
-Enemies come in many variants including 'hero' enemies with additional unique attacks

Things unique to TQ:

-Multiclass system allowing players to mix and match two classes from a pool of 9 classes
-Better graphics on a technical level (art style can be argued of course)
-Physics, for instance smashing skeletons sending their bones flying around
-WYSIWYG...what you see is what you get item system where enemies drop the loot they are actually carrying
-Diablo is set in a medieval dark world, TQ is based on ancient greece/china/hades

Well, I haven't touched this since EA because I wanted to play the finished product... I guess I have no excuse now.

Titan's Quest had a debatably better character system, better combat systematics(Targetting was easier, combat was a smidge more forgiving, and itemization was "better") and without randomized levels, but other than that yes, it's an ARPG of the Diablo-like kin.

EDIT: Also what revenant said. EDIT2 Can't spell Renevent.

No, there were also active skills. Each combination had like 8 actives to choose from. Grim Dawn def kicks this up a notch though with a lot of active skills also being granted by items.

Diablo 2: You kill alot of demonic trash mobs for loot.
Titan Quest: You kill alot of mythological trash mobs for loot.
Grim Dawn: You kill alot of post apocalyptic/extradimensional/demonic trash mobs for loot.
There are big differences.

At least on this game you can kill your trash mobs in peace without watching Blizzard having a stroke, convulsing and drooling all over the place, you don't feel the need to kill it out of pity and mercy like you did on Diablo 3.

It was great in Diablo 1.
I really can't believe how bad they screwed up voice acting in this one, a real waste of resources...

You have a poison occultist if I remember right? Which secondary class you picked?
I really had a hard time choosing yesterday night because there was not really much support for poison from other classes (only nightblade have some)

Some builds sure, my elementalist had 1 bar actives and a second bar with core dweller, wisp and my 3 buffs +shields so no idea what you mean. Also you could play like that in D2 as well.

I took an Arcanist and went 32 points deep into the tree for Mental Alacrity. I maxed out Inner Focus on the way, put a point in Ereoctes, a couple in Maiven's (I did not feel the need to cap it because I have Possession) and a point in Nullification can be put if you care. Something I didn't take, but what you could do if you wanted to, which may be an even better thing now that DoTs can crit, is to put 1 point into IEE and nab Elemental Balance since it gives crit damage%.

Because games on Steam are not typically released at the stroke of midnight...most releases are done 11am EST or later.

It's February 25, why is it still not released!?
Because steam does releases at a consistent time for almost everything. It'll be there at around 11AM West Coast Kwa Time or around 1PM Eastern Kwa time, or around 7PM in the glorious 4th Reich Of Your Penis.
