Is it really turn-based?
I thought it's real-time, and told him in the survey I don't like that.

You know, I didn't much care about not getting because I figured that the chances were low, but now that I'm seeing that almost everyone else got in...

“Deathfire” is a hardcore role-playing game that is heavily influenced by games of, what I call, the Golden Era of computer role-playing games.
Using modern day technology for the visual presentation, under the hood we’re building a game that is every bit as detailed and intricate as the “Realms of Arkania” games used to be
In addition to that we’re also bringing back true turn-based combat to the genre. The industry has largely abandoned turn-based combat in the last decade in favor for more action-oriented real time combat. However, we felt that in order to create a true role-playing experience that has the depth and flexibility, as well as the strategic elements, we were looking for, turn-based combat was the only feasible way to go.
I hope you told him to get Mark Meer and Felicity Day to do the VO's of the characters, you know for immershun as no RPG is complete without full VO.Oh, didn't know that, I've also said to him that real-time was a bad ideia... at least it will serve to make him sure about going turn-based.
What was the context of deathfire?
I don't see why a working title is necessary at this stage of pre-pre-pre-production. Usually studios call it something nondescript like van buren or project eternity
There are people who'll come up with several usable names in an afternoon - if you know what you want from the name. And I'm not quite sure he does know, the way he's been going about it
Hello,
I wanted to take a moment again real quick to thank you in person for participating in the "Deathfire" survey last week. It was very exciting for us to hear all the various opinions and see how you felt about the different names and suggestions we had in mind. Many of the responses were surprising and many were very much enforcing our own feelings on the subject. We are currently analyzing the results and I will have a blog post soon that will discuss the survey and some of the feedback we received from you.
Since we have made our final decisions at this time, we feel it is no longer necessary to shroud the contents of the survey in secrecy so please feel free to discuss the contents of the survey on your favorite message boards, your blogs or your social networks.
As a small token of my gratitude for taking the time to participate in the survey, and for the many honest responses we received, enclosed to this email, please find an eBook copy of the "Jason Dark: Ghost Hunter Collection." I hope you will enjoy these little stories as much as I had writing them, purely for wicked fun. I am enclosing the Kindle version of the book but if you need a different format, please feel free to let me know.
Thank you once again for your help and your support. Please continue to help us spread the word about the game and feel free to contact me at any time if you have thoughts, suggestions or comments about the game.
I hope we can do this again some time,
Guido Henkel
