I remember the days when we had separate subforums for old RPGs, while everything past Morrowind I think went into "new RPG" category. Also, if I am not mistaken, at some point only messages posted in those threads counted messages posted, while GD posts did not...? As a member for some time I can't say if it is indeed getting better. There were some years with shitty RPGs coming out (the usual stuff the Codex hates) and maybe that is when it felt that the activity was lower but with all the new games that have come out in recent years, I'd say the Codex is getting at least more active, if not better.

I agree 100% with buzz and the things that he mentions there give the Codex a special charm.

On topic, I just followed the people posting from interplay forums and was lurking the codex since its inception.

The ads suck and are intrusive like a motherfucker if I'm not logged in.
Main page is still a piece of shit with bunch of links all around with the main content being in the middle taking 1/4 of the screen.

Content is still good for the most part, main decline being PoE review marathon and some random apologetic reviews made just so Infinitron can put em on Steam curator page.

Forums are more open, in the days if you mentioned anything that wasnt hardcore people would just shitpile on you and troll you to death. Now being bigger, there's always some faggot addicted to the same shitgame you play and most of the people show enough restrain to gtfo the thread they have no buisness being in.
