my horse actually cleaned out a bandit camp by himself.

it was a small one though, just some 3-4 bandits.

Bethesda: putting the horse back into RPG

Horse back. into RPG. as in saying "putting your back into it", putting a horse's back into it? I have to explain this to you. If you understand please say so.

Finally, some of us don't cheat and instead use the mods to remove fast travel.
Fast travel isn't cheating, it's a convenience. Not everyone has the patience to travel back and forth through the same uninteresting route over and over and over. It would be cheating if you could travel to places you haven't visited yet.

No it's cheating, when you want fast travel you have a carriage (or a horse). Look at facts when you are travelling through the same route, you might like to try to plan your duties to avoid unnecessary travel. In addition it makes some quests incredibly easy.

They are putting both "fighting" and "horse back" into it, only separately.
:troll:
Why would you want to fight on horse back when you can fight side by side with a horse? Skyrim is awesome. [rimjob]Bethesda appreciates the central role of horses in RPGs.[/rimjob]

Wish I can do that to Elves. Is this a mod or what?

The only quest type where fast travel matters is an "escort NPC x" quest, in which case fast travel should indeed not be possible. All other quests that are trivialized by it are anyway boring or nothing else but tedium. The rest can be safely build around it without much problems.

I don't care much about it, but if there isn't fast travel, the game should provide an different efficient travel system and/or sufficient movement speed.

That's simple going somewhere without fast travel could mean encounter with bears. With fast travel you are saving potions, and avoiding dangerous encounters.
Without fast travel you are trying to solve all problems in city, with fast travel, you are not forced. You are also saving all these moneys for carriages, which would be really important without fast travel.

Why is your Imperial so dark Lazur? Mommy met Redguard (black Horse) Courier? Also it would be awesome if instead of Khajt it would be Thalmoran Ambassador. :smug:

because its one of those nobles you can meet on the road.

I would really like to see you playing Daggerfall.

There was no Skyrim like fast travel. There was a travel where you could be ambushed, and where the time and travel path were important. In addition quest didn't have infinity days to be done, so you were forced to plan your path, or take risks.

Insert clever insult here
I thought there was a .ini fix for the mouse sensitivity? Can't find it now.

Edit: Probably won't matter. I get stuck in inventory and cannot get out of it, no matter what keys/buttons I smash. Patched to 1.3, didn't help. Whoopee, awesome little glitch. Will try reinstalling.

Missing the point, in Daggerfall everyone used Fast Travel because trying to go there without it was simply insane due to the sheer scale of the game.

Also there is some risk on Skyrim fast travel, you see the game will dump you in the marker with no regards to anything so if you are fast traveling to a location and the marker is in sight of enemies you pretty much have to fight then, also the system can allow for ambushes since I ended up with Mercenaries trying to kill me when I walked out of a city or even a house (I think they are spawned the moment you enter the cell so if you fast travel they can spawn unless they are excluded), also random Dragon attack do not care at all how you got there ... I had several occasions were I had a Dragon attack when I fast traveled to a city.

Also Daggerfall did had infinity days for the main quests, the only with deadlines were the generated ones and failing then have not much of a ill effect (besides counting against rank progression) and since Skyrim have no ranks there is really not much of a reason to put deadlines on those (as failing then would just cause nothing), I agree with the Calendar since Daggerfall had some specific holidays and even if its just for ambient (since no quest in Skyrim seems to be Calendar related, even the Bards College one).

Very appropriate texture upgrade for elemental spell impacts on environment. Always hated how the frost spells, in particular, left such low resolution marks.

Check out the modder's other works as well. I use all of them.

P.S: Eh, tried to resize the pics using some fancy code I googled, doesn't work. So bear with the size, sorry.
