And im spending way too much time running after butterflies and catching fish in ponds as it is.
Skyrim is best game ever when one does totally ignore the plot and just does go around catching butterflies and hunting super monsters.
That was what I was referring to, that the game puts the main quest on hold. Unlike you, however, I'm purposedly avoiding the main quest.
I do ignore it too. I just have a mod that does spawn dragons as soon as the game begins instead of after going to fight in the tower. I do love me some superpowered dragons. It does make me love my pwetty unicorn all the more when his dashing speed is all standing between me and a giant dinosaur with wings and bad breath.
Edit: Two more mods you guys may be interested in.
The first one is
Skymomod, aka Skyrim Monster Mod. It does add a whole bunch of new monsters to the game, most of them with really nice graphics and models. It is not 'lore friendly' but, like, who cares? There are some pretty awesome beasties in there.
The second one is
Skyrim Monster Wars. It is an 'addon' to Skymomod that does something similar with monsters to what Warzones does with the Civil War, by which I do mean it does basically take the monsters from Skymomod and does make them fight guards, caravans, and participate in battle against... blue stripes. Yes, the ones from The Witcher. If you do get 5.0 instead of 5.1 it does also make the monsters get into packs and attack towns and villages and other locations on the world map, which are now all protected by members of the blue stripes as well as the usual soldiers and guards.
It does also add a few monsters of its own to Skymomod's catalogue. It does have an extra 'hardcore' patch that does raise the difficulty a bit and a 'hardcore + dragons' patch that does also add ten powerful dragons to the map. It is pretty fun.
If you do manage to run those along with Warzones (it is kind of hard) you can from time to time get some pretty awesome battles where three or more factions (monsters, imperials, stormcloaks, blue stripes, random spawns, and special monsters spawned by Warzones itself to crash the party, plus the ocassional dragon or three) do fight a massive deathmatch battle that will either CTD your game or bless you with beautiful chaos.
