If you own the old version on Steam you should already have SE in your library for free.
I wasn't a big Steam user back then.
But I suppose when reasonably discounted I will get it and just store it there with the rest. I've come to appreciate this aspect of steam.

What about the Anniversary edition? Is it actually different? Does it break mods all over again?

It has over 500 Creation Club Mods included and I am planning to add additional Mods using Nexus Mod Manager when I play Anniversary edition

I imagine it would break some Mods but its a good time to refresh your Mods for Skyrim anyway with all the additional Creation Club mods included :salute:

The creation club mods are garbage.

I can't believe you guys aren't checking out Wabbajack content, it blows everything else away.

Aniversary Edition update itself is a bunch of Creation Club mods, which should not break other mods unless there is a direct conflict. But with the release of AE they also updated the exe for SE, which obviously breaks SKSE64 and some other stuff and it takes time for all the mod authors to catch up. I didn't buy the AE update, and from what I saw many of the Creation Club mods are of rather low quality and does not feel "vanilla" enough to be called "Anniversary Edition" like it is the definitive version of the game.

I'm not opposed in principle, I just observe that the odds of finding a package with exactly the stuff I want is very low.
Is there a Requiem package?
It'd need an update, too, now that Requiem SE is out and several mods will need updates of their own.

There are several Requiem modlists but they are using a custom-built version of Requiem for SE, they won't be using the official one yet since it only just released

What you ought to be psyched about is WILDLANDER which is Dylan Perry's new modlist based off what used to be called Ultimate Skyrim, it's releasing early January and it's going to be ace

I'm a fan of Requiem though so I think I'll wait a few more months at least...
Unless... well you know how it goes with these things

The mod that allows you to block with one weapon, dual wielding, or unarmed in VR is always fun. I typically use Ordinator for some perks but then I put Path of Sorcery on top of it because it has much more interesting magic perks. Then open civil war, a dozen thalmor mods if i'm elven scum, joining the city guards, as many minor quest mods as I can find.

The problem with wabbajack is that modders constantly update their mods and tools, and this breaks the mod lists in turn
If you're lucky, your modlist will stick around for a few weeks, and if you're not, it'll be online for all of 5 minutes before it breaks.
Many many modlists have already been abandoned because of this constant back and forth.

nexusmods did alleviate that issue to much... vitriol, for their own modlist feature ( https://www.nexusmods.com/news/14538 )
But they're not the only source of mods on the net.
I've seen the lists go down because they referenced an old version of DynDoLOD that couldn't be downloaded anymore from mega.nz.

Wildlander is out guys.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1SXZSma38Mw2lTpDOY-pZRTYmpIUb6y0UYL4X7cZg2Ps/edit

What Is Wildlander?
Wildlander is a total conversion modpack for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition that aims to bring the frozen north into your home. Whether you want to call it immersion, realism, roleplaying, or simple masochism, the endgoal is to make you actually feel like an intrepid adventurer climbing snow-covered mountains, delving into ancient ruins, and getting your bits bitten off by packs of hungry wolves.
Wildlander is made up of hundreds of publicly available mods made by almost as many talented mod authors. These mods have been carefully selected, tested, and tweaked by Dylan to iron out any technical difficulties and maintain a consistent experience.
Wildlander is also a mod in its own right, as it includes proprietary features not available in the original mods.
The whole experience is built around Requiem - the Roleplaying Overhaul - 4.0.2. Requiem completely retools all of Skyrim to create a challenging, deleveled world with plenty of meaningful choices. Requiem can be overwhelming at first, so I highly recommend reading up on it. Start with Surviving the first few hours in Requiem, and if you want the nitty-gritty details, check out the Requiem Community Wiki and read the pdf manual included in the Requiem download. The manual is for an older version, but the only major differences are a few perk trees and the armor penetration mechanics.
In general, any Requiem resources you find will be applicable to Wildlander. Some information may be outdated, some may be overwritten by other mods in Wildlander, and some may have been disabled entirely, but the core principles are the same.

Core Mods
Wildlander is built around Requiem - the Roleplaying Overhaul. Requiem completely retools all of Skyrim to create a challenging, deleveled world with plenty of meaningful choices. It can be a bit obtuse, so I highly recommend reading up on it. Requiem - Minor Arcana SSE Convert tweaks many aspects of the game to provide a more consistent experience. Requiem - Dragonborn Patch applies Requiem’s overhauls to the Dragonborn DLC.
Skyrim Unbound Reborn skips the main quest up to right before you’re called by the Graybeards, and offers plenty of pre-start options (found under the Wildlander menu), such as where to start the game and whether or not your character is actually Dragonborn.
Diverse Character Creation is a character creation system that aims to bring the ideologies of Skyrim, Morrowind, and Oblivion together as one cohesive system. DCC introduces the ability to create characters with asymmetric skill levels and start with different (or no) spells based on your skills.
Wildlander SE – The one mod which ties everything together.

You can read the rest on the wiki

The madman did it! Does it work with Anniversary Edition?

The creation club mods are garbage.

I can't believe you guys aren't checking out Wabbajack content, it blows everything else away.

What modpack you recommend?
Probably Elysium or Aldrnari, they aren't Requiem though, Serenity 2 is probably the best Requiem package but it's a bit bloated I think (LotD, 3DNPC and Wyrmstooth are all kind of bad for immersive role-playing IMO), should still be decent though. And ofc by decent I mean around 10000x better than vanilla Skyrim

I would honestly check out Wildlander though. Once Dylan has added everything he wants to add to it, it will be THE premier Skyrim SE modlist

I have a feeling these modlists also include graphical overhauls that require a powerful machine.
With a custom list one can set up a more lightweight combo.

Yes, but they should come with some settings to adapt to low machines. I know for a fact that Dylan has set Wildlander up with several performance settings, the lowest one should work on any potato-like machine

So no, not really a reason to make a custom list, nothing you could make could match what these guys can produce

Wildlander has system requirements, so you can see what you need.

This is why LGBT leftards should be gassed unironically, jesus fucking christ people get broken modlists because of some snowflake faggot.

This is why nexus should ban removing mods as a political message, because leftist cuntards love this kind of stuff.

Heckin' GAYERINOS!

So the author of the first mod you linked, ReaperAnon, is also the author of several other choice selections:

Grounded Skyrim

"Ever found yourself wondering after a fight how most of a bandit fort happened to be female? Or perhaps you fought your way through a camp of large Orcish bandits only to find the bandit chief being a dainty Breton woman? Maybe you were wondering how the population of Skyrim is not heavily aging because of low birthrates? Maybe about why women are turning to a life of crime and banditry when they probably have families to support them and fathers to oppose them?

So many possible questions, yet no logical answer to them. This mod aims to rectify that by removing most (if not all) women from leveled lists in many instances to offer a heightened sense of immersion and not leave you wondering so often as to why something is the way it is in-game."

and ......wait for it......

More Racism in Windhelm - improvements

It's here on github
https://github.com/aers/EngineFixesSkyrim64
At least the leftist who protested was sensible to host it elsewhere. Still i hate that people use their mods to force a publisher/hosting site to bend to their agenda. The "straight marriage only" mod wasn't abusive at all, no foul comment from author. I don't understand why they are so butthurt, same for "no women bandits". Jesus fucking christ, how can someone roleplay medieval themed skyrim then?

It's almost like Nexus was 100% correct when they changed their system so that mods can never truly be deleted from the site
