PS5 exclusives don't sell. Check Sony's quarterlies: They bundle their PS4 and PS5 software sales and have since the PS5's release, and that number has only been stable or slightly improved from the PS4's life. There's a reason mosts developers still releases everything for PS4 too.

I don't know... Uncharted 4 had a chad as the protagonist and Last of Us 2 a good-looking young white woman (Abbie being secondary). Druckmann has never tried a protagonist so repulsive (unless you count Abbie, who wasn't on the cover). The tattoos, shaved head, androgyny, smugness... Last of Us 2 trailers didn't have ratings this bad.

The protag reminds me of Navarro from Alien Romulus, ie one of the most annoying characters to ever exist in an Alien movie. I wonder if that was the inspiration.

It looked like that asian thing was attacking big robot in meelee with some variation of laser sword.
Could be another Horizon Zero Dawn, Wukong or Elden Ring clone.

I think also some sound/rythm/music stuff will kinda be involved in fights, at least visually. Baldys sword got some sound wave like edge.

a) a sequel usually sells on the strength of the previous game and

If this is real leak, and not some publicity stunt, ND really mixed bunch of shit in this one.
Gameplay is, as stated in leak, "open world Uncharted" with bunch of stuff borrowed from Mass Effect, while story is Heart of Darkness with couple of plot twists.
Space is just backdrop for the story, which is nonsensical and full of modern and overused SF tropes even from this short leak.

• High tech society, quantum this-that, but you can hide your identity by shaving your head. Gotcha, Chuds!
• Crew are a bunch of likeable outlaws in oppresive regime of Galactipol, and you don't even have to know anthing about them to know how they will act and what is their role.
• Luis, Burt Reynolds lookalike, is straight white man mentor/traitor/villain figure who went crazy. Well, that is surprising!
• Kumar is comical relief, which is a bit racist, Neil!
• Galactipol is obviously corrupt and evil or even worse, incompetent; they inherited tech from ex interstellar imperium and are probably stagnant; there ha s to be a jab
• Sempirians, aliens/mutated humans (plot twist), have legitimate grievances towards people that experimented on them and left them on a harsh planet. Oh, that moment when you realize they are not monsters, they are peoples too!

Intergalactic is ND intepretation of contemporary normie SF adventure, and since ND audience likes gameplay in the past, they will probably evolve it, not change it in a big way.
What I'm most interested is tone - 2020's SanFran in space (and it certainly looks that way), combined with inherent normie hesitance and suspicion towards SF, will be obnoxious enough for larger part of public to ignore it.

Yup. New IP is more likely to fail.

But audience is kinda tired of butchering sequels as well. Star Wars, Veilguard and (not released yet) Ass Creed, or even Dr Who are notable mentions in drama.
