inXile, you too? inXile you too!

inXile, Obsidian, and Playground, three of Xbox studios are making open world action RPGs.

More for AAA production.

(Really, in few years, who could tell the difference between inXile and Obsidian? They both make singleplayer AA and AAA RPGs focused on C&C and narrative, both also make multiplayer games, both are based in Orange County, California, both shares the root of Interplay. Codex and some gamers can probably tell, but can whoever will be in charge of Xbox at that time?)

I guess they're now preparing marketing materials for Frostpoint (the VR shooter): https://steamdb.info/app/774581/history/?changeid=7157301

Builds for Footage Cap

X019? (Showing three Wasteland titles together?) Well probably not, since this is likely not coming to Xbox the console.

Also for some reason they have changed the title from Wasteland: Frostpoint to just Frostpoint VR.

Hey, coming X019?: https://twitter.com/FrostpointVR

Zombra What game did inXile release that you would say was competently executed?
The question isn't intended to be tongue-in-cheek, I'm genuinely curious.
All their recent stuff is competent. Perfect? No. Shining with divine brilliance? Some have their moments, but in general, no. Competent? Sure.

Anyone reading this likely has their ammo all loaded. "Only a complete incompetent would include [list of things I didn't like]!" I mean, you're welcome to that opinion, but ... I have lots of complaints about lots of games. That doesn't make those devs incompetent, just not as good as I could imagine.

The only thing I'll really give you is their pattern of releasing before they're ready, then rereleasing the actual version a year or two later. This does speak to high level issues about release dates, project management, fulfillment, crunch, etc. but I feel that even these issues are not sufficient to write off the studio as a whole. All their recent games eventually reach a serviceable state, and any reasonable gamer these days should know to take release day (for any dev) with a hunk of salt.
