Here's a brand new trailer:

Much better than the previous one, as far as I'm concerned.

The beta for chapter 2 is out.

I can't believe some of the people posting on their forums. There are actually people complaining that the puzzles are too old-school and not "immersive"(aka piss easy) enough.
The puzzles barely require any thought at all! What the fuck is wrong with those people? He actually goes on to say that Heavy Rain and The Walking Dad are great adventure games. They're not even adventure games! They're more like visual novels or interactive movies.
I thought, or at least hoped, that the people willing to back games on kickstarter would actually have some interest in the kind of game they're backing but I guess they're just hype-drunk retards that just couldn't control themselves and are now trying to turn it into some z-grade interactive movie shitfest.

Haven't gotten around to playing it, disappointing to hear the puzzles aren't challenging though - more so that people are upset at them still

I think the quality of the alpha/beta feedback threads are above average, and mostly incredibly hostile towards the current design of the game (which is decline) -- I don't quite know what thread you're reading, but there's a minimum of people posting fanshit "loved it!! 2hard" type stuff in the official feedback threads (compared to pretty much every other adventure Kickstarter). Sure there's probably that one Walking Dead guy, but a ton of people are trying to genuinely help with the mess, politely complaining about the stupidly easy puzzles, shallow-everything, stereotypically bad-adventure-game-design, and comprehensively tearing it apart and offering suggestions (it's still a bit early to be an asshole to Jane Jensen)...

Hence why I said some not most.

What really surprised me is that seemingly no-one has pointed out how tiny the the levels are and the lack of interactive objects.

Ouch. It's 3D. (this might be common knowledge, but I didn't know)

Yeah, I wonder what is going on here. I remember it being announced as a 2D game.

It's the 2.5D thing that Jane did with Grey Matter, and POStudios did with Cognition -- the backgrounds are based off 2D paintings (by Andy Hoyos), that they seem to be redrawing/recoloring/grading to polish and better match their 3D characters.

What’s also interestingly hinted at is a possible relationship between Rector and another man in the game.
Erm, so the main char is named Malachi Rectum Rector and he's gay?
I don't know if you should trust on RPS, they are very biased in favor or gays, trannies and lesbo fascists. The possibility of the author of the preview seeing what he wants to see is high. Based on the preview, the character appear to be a strong male support character/antagonist that Jane already did in GK 2. Probably it will be a character to challenge the main character and at same time generate sympathy , the fact that John Walker have gay dreams is another thing , especially as other previews don't mention this.

There's definite homoerotic tension in the cutscene that RPS is talking about, as well as a bit in-game where you practically grope the guy while he's unconscious (to find out who he is). I think I agree with the commenter on that preview that thinks it's more of a GK2 Von Glower type situation, but it wasn't exactly subtle.

I so hope he's gay just to see the reaction of some of the game's RPG Codex backers.

It'd be like watching a bus full of retarded kids spaz out because they thought they were going to the zoo, but instead ended up at the dentist.

I so hope he's not, just to see the reaction of the "everything must have gay in it" activists.

Nah, I wouldn't rage about some character being gay. I just hate smug gay activists that think the most important thing of the world is the sexual tendecies of someone. I don't give two shits about the sexuality of the character but I fear annoying sexualization of characters to the point of the only trait a character has is their sexual tendecies, like Bioware does. I don't want to waste time with Mr. Gay boring guy but Mr. Malachi that can be gay or not and it is something so irrelevant that never become a major theme of the story.

Would be surprised to see that, he seems like a very 'meh' to personal relationships type of person at least what I've seen so far.

Yeah I think Jaesun, Broseph and Korgan (is he still around?) would have a fit. Fucking faggots everywhere, stealing our wives jobs.
