I want to beleive in Eisenwald, I really do. But I've been burned too many times in the past by Vodka Videogames that looked promising in development. If/when the game is released and reviews tick in confirming it's somewhat bug-free and balanced, I'll throw my jewgold at them.

They are the White Russians you hear about that are more like the west. More like a cross between Scandinavians and Potato people than Russians from Russia.

No, they are just wayward Poles, yearning to be reunited with the motherland. Don't worry my brothers we are coming and this time we'll be staying for good!

Xenonauts: public build almost ready, kickstarter move soonish?

http://www.goldhawkinteractive.com/forums/showthread.php/1464-Xenonauts-Build-V9.4-released!

Please keep 15$ or so ready for this kickstarter, because right now it's the best shot at turn based tactical combat we have.

:bro:

By the way, has anyone played latest builds? Except combat how good are other parts of the game? It's kind of an X-Com clone, isn't it?

Why don't you watch some videos on youtube? It can be seen there that the game is shaping up extremely good, but there is no proper AI and gameplay yet.

I really wonder what will happen once they are on kickstarter, with an advanced, playable build, and a level of preparedness that must make Brian Fargo green with envy.

In the end they will hopefully raise over a million $ which would be quite ridiculous, considering they have come so far with only living from hand to mouth, and will suddenly swim in cash.
But it can only be good for the game because they still need someone to do proper AI and gameplay. Right now it looks more like an advanced engine demo.

I had written off Xenonauts early on, but I now am actually extremely optimistic about this. If Chris doesn't fuck up from now on, this kickstarter business will have come at the exact right moment for him. Meaning that he would probably have given up at some point in 2012 without it, and that Xenonauts is exactly the kind of project that kickstarter is made for.

Prediction: funding goal 100,000$, final result over a million dollar.

God I hope not.

The main strength of kickstarter is that the gullible sheep already have accounts there and go there to check on DFA/tortured hearts. There's no way you're going to convince a signifigant portion of them to sign up for a second site.

That forum makes it sound like Xenonauts will be on indiegogo instead of KS. That won't be good for it's cashflow imo.

That was what they said some time ago, but I think the recent situation is that they can go to kickstarter.

Don't know if this has been posted somewhere or if this is the appropriate thread for it, but ran into this nifty little project-tracking tool that might be interesting to someone bored at work.

By the way, no one has explained yet why Mr. Sergey Eisenwaldov from Belarus can do kickstarter, but Chris England from UK can not.

Man, I will go bankrupt. :( Hope they get on kickstarter rather than indiegogo though. Even if I pledge just 15$ for all these great games, my financial situation will be ruinous... And I'm spending my money sparingly.

What do you mean? Guys from Xenonauts can't start their kickstarter project?

Why do you think they wanted to go to IndieGogo in the first place?

Am I eligible to start a Kickstarter project?

WTF?? Well they should certainly contact the Belarussian comrades and ask, as they will probably raise more money on kickstarter.

I still don't see how this is possible under kickstarters terms of service, because legally the project is from Aterdux Games.
