Indiegogo is a never ending stream of lulz, here some:
Cash for Cunts
We want to licence Jarvis Cocker's "Cunts are Still Running the World" for our game about the war on terror
http://www.indiegogo.com/Cash-for-Cunts

Galaxy Uprising Strategy Battle Game

Galaxy Uprising is a Sci-Fi SBG, were you decide the fate of the galaxy Cona. we have insignificant funds to create it. So plz donate and help create a new SBG!
http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/91131
You should listen to this to believe, a little kid eating candies and beating on the table wants twenty thousands dollars for his idea.

Our game has a compelling and relevant theme, one of the major issues of our time, Secularism. In a world where religious extremism has visibly scarred people everywhere, we believe it's important for us to, if only just for a second, consider the ramifications of holding onto an extremist view on religion, whether it be militant atheism, true agnostic indifference or condoning religious violence. It's a serious topic, and we want to create a game with the potential to "accidentally educate" people while they're enjoying themselves

I'm waiting for either Braben or Bell (Or both. Hah, right) to kickstart a new Elite. What's keeping them?

Have you tried Oolite or Vega Strike?

Has no one pitched doing a "classic" FPS game? That has me a bit baffled.

What do you mean by a "classic" FPS? If you mean something like Unreal Tournament then there are several open source ones available (and still maintained), in roughly descending order of graphical loveliness:

Xonotic (DarkPlaces engine is HEAVILY derived/advanced from the Quake I engine, sci-fi)
Red Eclipse (Cube 2 engine, sci-fi)
CodeRED: Alien Arena (CRX engine is derived from the Quake II engine, retro-sci-fi with brain-in-jar aliens)
Warsow (Qfusion engine is derived from the Quake II engine, sci-fi)
Cube 2: Sauerbraten (own (Cube 2) engine, sci-fi/fantasy)
World of Padman (ioquake3 engine simply maintenance of Quake III Arena engine, tiny superheroes the size of mice running around the living room shooting each other)
OpenArena (ioquake3 engine simply maintenance of Quake III Arena engine, sci-fi/fantasy)
Smokin' Guns (ioquake3 engine simply maintenance of Quake III Arena engine, wild west)
Urban Terror (ioquake3 engine simply maintenance of Quake III Arena engine, counterstrike-like)
AssaultCube (Cube 1 engine, counterstrike-like)

This Kickstarter is funded and closed now but I like the thought of it: it's a game that is supposed to teach you how to make games somehow.

The game's called Code Hero. I figured I would mention it since it seems very :monocle:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects...hat-teaches-you-to-make-games-he?ref=category
Lovely, I will add it to the Puzzle game section, unless there are suggestions for a different collocation

I will add Yogventures to the hall of shame, as example of the decline, considering that really irks Codex sensibilities.
The balloon will have to wait depending on lulzy development.

I guess this one can go into the LULZ Boycott section. It's a "hard-core MMORPG" for the Facebook and Apple tablet crowd. It lists Neverwinter Nights,Baldur's Gate, and Diablo 2 as its main inspirations. Featuring 3 races Seraphim, Fallen, and Hybrids it just screams hard-core.

It's called Banished: The Reckoning.

Random images, blah, blah and in top of that the funding is just to convince a publisher?!
Takedown is seriously risking to lose the crown of turd king.

Now I want to signal this one:
Roll20 -- Virtual tabletop gaming that tells a story, I think that many here could be interested.

OK I found this zombie-themed FPS/RTS hybrid by accident when searching for "rpg" because the Kickstarter page is misleading ("RPG & FPS GENRE!") because the guy talks about RTS & FPS together. He also makes mention of Call of Duty, Battlefield and other games of that type.

What's worse is that in the written description there is mention of MMO
Once you have your team mates selected, you can than give the command and area where you want them to attack or defend, much like a RTS and MMO combined.

For even more lulz, check out that Tang-colored zombie blood in the video. :D

I have already added too much shit, I will take a pause for now, I don't want to be unfair nor give a free pass to turds.

that Dr McNinja comic is doing a platformer
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/176497824/dr-mcninjas-radical-adventures?ref=category

We’ve created a very special kind of retro platformer, one that has incredible explorable levels with hidden nooks and crannies, that also only uses one single button for input. That’s right it’s a one button game. Our game designers have made an evolutionary step on the “one button” genre and made a game that feels and plays like a console platformer while only requiring that single tap, tap, tap. Occasionally a press and hold. It’s that simple. If it helps, don't think of it as a one button platformer, think of it as an exploration rhythm game.
:hero:

Also the game will be free! That’s right free. We will be using a micropayment system for content unlocks, but you don’t need to buy anything ever to unlock everything in the game.
Pledge $5 or more
10,000 Shamrock Points (once our point system is in place). This will be enough to unlock all of the content but not all of the initial power-ups at launch.

Pledge $15 or more
100,000 Shamrock Points (once our point system is in place). This will be enough to unlock everything at launch and still have enough for several more content updates. All contributions above this level will also get this reward.

Make the Codex Great Again!

Even if, in the remotest of chances, it does turn out to be a good game, there's no way you can force me to buy it and endure bloody 8-year olds SCREAMING N TYPING IN CAPS LIEK DIZ over the chat, not even if you put a gun to my head.
(well maybe I would if you put a gun to my head)

Btw, Vigrior may not be DRM-free. Apparently they have this crazy idea that people are out to clone the shit out of their games. Whether or not it's going to be just Steam is left to speculation.

The game will most likely be played mostly by adult males, the same demographic that watch my little pony, and plays minecraft. Yogscast is actually good the shadows of Israphel series is very good, but this game looks bad.

While we are talking about cards decks:

I tapped into the unseen realms, into the realms of Masters and Angelic beings, into different ancient high consciousness cultures, into our starseed connection, and infused all these different energies into the cards. That is why they are gateways and hold a lot of information to be experienced and unraveled…
“These are not ordinary tarot cards. Each of them is a gateway...” Kartron channeled by Patrick McCormick
