Yeah, you get feats every 3 levels. Pierre mentioned possibly adding an option to get feats every 2 levels at some point.

Speaking of psionicists, though, is the Energy Specialisation feat in the game? It's on this page, but I don't see it as an option at level 3.

Yeah it's just in a bit of a weird spot.

Hahaha. I did the same thing, even with my salamander giving me a surprise round. God damn fireball spell should be classified as a war crime.

I have -492 gold now. Nice. I had 8 gold left and paid the guy to fly me across the chasm. I couldn't do the 200 gold option because I didn't have enough gold, but the other option was fine. I'm going to die in this fight anyway, but it's interesting. Time to use quick load to set my gold back to 0? That's like making almost 500 gold.

I spent the last 30 minutes in the corner of the room while the goblins duked it out, a minotaur mage from the opposing faction was the only survivor and promptly annihilated my remaining party. Time to call it a night I think.

Only got 20 for search with my kobold vs 22 off an elf. Think elves get a racial bonus.

Meanwhile I'm actually doing well for now. The goblin fight was relatively easy after the grueling crypt, but it was a bit tedious due to enemy turns taking a long time if there's a lot of them. Now I bought some cool shit from the grey goblins by selling of the magic items I don't need, and buying ones that sound great. Now my party is ready... until the next combat that rapes me, I guess.

Don't I know it, the fight in the fire cave sucked. I picked up the +2 dmg roll ring and the psion crown and now I need to get past that hallway past the arena.

I just leveled up to 3 again and it wasn't there. If you goto the last level respeccer on your character sheet you can it pick it there though.

Mimic first, rest at kobold, then goblin fight grey side, then crypt.

Go to the kickstarter and read this very thread and find plenty of people having the same issues. It's 2020 and cucks still post "Works on My Machine (TM)" to feel good about getting ripped off. Pathetic.

Since saving custom characters certainly has something to do with saving data to the hard disk we can make some guesses as to what is the cause.

- when I started the game the firewall prevented it from running because it isn't signed or whatever, make sure your antivirus/firewall/other security program doesn't prevent the game from writing data to HD
- could be a permission issue as in the folder you installed it to has no write permissions (for your user), to make sure install the game to a custom folder (in my case C:\Games\Knights of the Chalice 2) and make sure in the folder properties that the folder isn't read-only. You could also make your current user the owner of that folder to circumvent most of the win10 related permission crap. Another try might be to run Kotc2.exe as administrator.

Sounds logical, I’ll give it a try when I get home.

Update: it wasn't virus scanner, but messing with read only and flagging to always run as admin has allowed the game to recognize my custom characters and actually save stuff.

You really need to pay attention to what you do with a mantis, if you do a full attack with 1 weapon and 3 claws each claw will have -5 to hit.

Is this actually mentioned anywhere, or are you just meant to figure it out yourself? There's nothing about this under the Mantis race entry nor under Weapon and Natural Attack Mixing which seems to be dedicated to the exact setup you're describing.

For all the help menus, this game still assumes you're coming in with some baked in knowledge of how 3/3.5e dnd works.

PSA: Rage on Barbarians is currently bugged. The help files say it's 1/day but in-fact, shoutbox reports you can rage every encounter, rendering the 2/day rage feat useless.
Enjoy it before it's fixed.

I believe you might be able to recruit Erizmon if you do the Tombs->Crypt thing before the big goblin fight.
How you are supposed to survive that without the goblin rest spot & gold reward is another question entirely...

I survived the tombs with the ratmen rest spot. Rest before the tombs, do them (and get lucky and really abuse your spells... and I hope you kept some of those spell recharging items), return to the rest spot again and do the goblin fight.

Do the guys who show up on the gray goblin side do anything? The snake thing and the two-headed giant just skipped their turns for a while then moved back and forth on a tiny little spike pit on that side of the map until they were dead. The fight was going pretty well besides that until that fucking minotaur casually walked up to one of my guys and hit him for 58 damage in one swing. That's a reasonable amount of damage against a level 3-4 party.

I'm trying to picture somebody designing this, playing it, and saying, "yeah, this is tuned juuuuust right."
