Can confirm this also happens in Italy. Unsurprisingly, Salvini often calls for indiscriminate boars killings (link):

HOLY SHIT just noticed on steam page that KOTC2 now have proper char models. Not top down tokens.
I can't say it looks better than the tokens. The new look strongly reminds me of the crappy rpgs that guy was making, who was constantly cloning the same unfinished game and sold it with different names. I can't recall the name of the "company", but they all had that crappy look and very similar UI. Did Pierre outsource it from that guy? Are these free textures everyone can get? I wish someone found the old threads about this guy, they were p. amusing.

KoTC1's graphics were vastly superior.

I can't say it looks better than the tokens. The new look strongly reminds me of the crappy rpgs that guy was making, who was constantly cloning the same unfinished game and sold it with different names. I can't recall the name of the "company", but they all had that crappy look and very similar UI. Did Pierre outsource it from that guy? Are these free textures everyone can get? I wish someone found the old threads about this guy, they were p. amusing.

from what I've seen, it's more comparable to something like Eschalon rather than any Vogel games. the lighting and environments look decent enough to compensate for the janky models.

there's different artstyles that can be used by different modules. personally I'm still partial to KoTC1's 2D sprites;

When I make modules I will design them for tokens, using top-down pen and paper dungeon building software (KotC maps are built with external programs then imported as an image file).

It just works extremely well for visual clarity in this engine.

Tokens really seem like the best option to me. It's so easy for anybody to add more (biggest bonus IMO), it's always 100% clear what spaces they're in, and it matches the hand-drawn maps so well. Anybody who doesn't like tokens is a big dummy and should come fight me.

I've used both tokens and character models. Both work for me.

I'm waiting for my Steam key, but to be honest, I played it a lot, not too long ago. I will at least boot it up and give a positive review.

Ah yes. That dude. Dude was using rpgmaker sprites or something anyway. Bill something or the other. Infinitron would definitely remember this dude.

By the look and sound of things it seems like isometric mode is gonna be for exploring and token mode will be best for battles. Think he mentioned it was Alt-T or something to switch between.
