There are bonfires you need to click on to rest. Often those bonfires only appear after killing certain enemies, when in a dungeon for example.

It's the tough part of the game

In the spiders cave, just bring a corpse to the bear and you'll be able to rest there.
In the first city, it's only available after you clear it.
In the orc stockade, just climb the stairs up and down before you go too far, it's probably the worst area, rest-wise, afterward, you'll be fine (ish)

No information about how to control only one party member and start the ecnoutner with an non wizard/cleric on front line or change the formation. Only things that i found in game help menu... Anyway, i finally got an good initiative rolls and managed to dispel the web from spiders. Beated the encounter, but there are any way to put casters on back line or to only walk with one party member???

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Grab the Codex by the pussy RPG Wokedex Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I helped put crap in Monomyth
Aren't there arrows of dragon slaying nearby? Or an NPC who gives the party dragon slaying arrows?

Yeah, an NPC tells you exactly what you are going to be fighting and tells you about the stash of arrows hidden nearby.

Yep. I was using mostly crossbows, so i tried to fight the dragon without the arrow, looted an random bow and he failed the first save and insta died... In therms of rule implementation, the game is nowhere near good as other games that i saw, but in therms of encounter designer is one of the best. Now that i completed the dungeon i an lost. Don't know what to do...

I seem to recall it starts really hard and you only have a few battle options and some are impossible. But it is like TOEE, after you get over the hurdle of the start, it gets a lot easier and your characters get a lot stronger. But there is still a challenge. I actually liked this game more than TOEE.

Some things that i really hated on this game

  1. Shapeshift spells are extremely weaker than on pnp by no reason
  2. No skills in the game and is not rare to my wizard to fail an concentration check without taking an single point of damage(due stoneskin or enemy missing). WHY???
  3. No buffs pre combat, i wanna have constant death ward if i an in a place with a lof of undead but no
  4. Only one summon (why?)
  5. Spell ranges are insanely limited compared to pnp, mainly when raining
  6. Only 3 classes and no multiclass
  7. You can face vampires during day in random encounters
Things that i loved on the game
  1. Dragons are insanely deadly
  2. Special arrows
  3. Crafting wands, scrolls, weapons, armor, etc
  4. Fast animations
  5. Resting is far more limited
  6. Points of no return
  7. The difficulty
  8. The U7 like graphics
So IMO worth each cent.

Summons tend to be op in D&D , here the single summon is already op. if there were no limit to summons i have little doubt that prolly the best team is 2 wizards, 2 clerics doing nothing but summons, this is also true in other computer D&D games. .Spell ranges already are long enough

I disagree. Summoning is not OP. Mainly because enemies can for eg, "send then back to their planes" or turn undeads. And the limit on summon on PnP is already good enough. Is your caster level * 2 hd worth of creatures. On BG:EE, you can have 5 Efreets but not 6 skeletons. That makes no sense. How control an small skeleton squad is harder than control 5 Efreets? As for the range, i strongly disagree. 70 feet is a range of an throwing stones, not an epic spell...

KotC is an amazing game, but has his flaws. I found some encounters hard due artificiality, eg, if i an in a place infested with undeads, i will put wards against then. Why i can't do it before combat", when i try to dispel enemy spells, i got "concentration fail" despite skills not existing in the game and the damage taken being zero, this not mentioning how counterspell works on the game. Certain worth the cost but ToEE, mainly with Co8 was much better. And if this rule alterations was optional, not mandatory, the game would not be just "a little above average", would be much better.

Before combat spells in RPG is the reason i don't play most RPG, it's tedious, and generally op. Spending minutes buffing all your characters it's extremly annoying, makes most fights extremly easy. At this point i just refuse to play any game with prebuffs.

Only be able to be buffed in combat is far more boring. Mainly when spells have less range than an dart and your casters can fail an concentration check despite concentration skill not existing by taking an "miss damage" and zero damage due stoneskin. It makes an ring who gives acid resistance far more relevant to the game than an spell who produces the same effect since the ring is not subjected to this artificial restriction. And you don't spend minutes buffing. On PF:KM i usually only apply more than 5 buffs in few hard encounters. This is just an artificial limitation that makes no sense and made the combat far more unfair. In an cave, where you are ambushed, just ambushed without any check, and the enemies always start first, and throw tons of plague spells into you, just cast an dispel in this BS required 5 reloads and watching the same animation sequence of they moving, How this is not more boring than cast haste in all party members???

Imagine in a novel
Party Leader - "guys, we are entering the elemental plane of fire, can you cast an protection from fire on at least the front line fighters?"
Magician - "no, my magic only works in a battle"
PArty Leader - "no problem, summon an animal attack the animal, then cast the spell on me"
Magician - " It will not work, i can't even summon outside of battle, and even if i could, the magic will dispel by no reason when the enemy is dead"
Party Leader - "WTF? Can you at least assume an fire gigant form?"
Magician - "no, only on combat and i in a gigantic form an so weak as on human form"
Party Leader - "dan, just lets go, i will craft an ring of fire protection. Much more useful than your magic tricks"
Magician - "but i can cast this spells in combat"
Party Leader - "no, i blocked an arrow yesterday and you failed on casting an spell in the moment that we most needed saying that got disturbed"

Let this rules that makes no sense be optional rules. That is my point.

PS : Note that on KoTC you spend tons of time micromanaging inventory and healing post battle due the fact that resting is limited.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
A lot of people, including me, complain about not enough race/class choices in Knights of the Chalice, but I think it's the only reason I was able to finish the game. I worry that I'll never finish part 2 because I'll keep thinking, "What if I try this party?!" every time I get a few hours into the game.

I figure that even if the game sells only a thousand copies, that's still well worth the time and effort (and $100) that Pierre put into getting the game on steam. And if more new people play the game in general, the world is a better place.

I don't think more people would be playing this game. Who would pay 20 bucks for a game that looks like it was made in 1993
