I trolled on their forums under different aliases, prodding different aspects of their limited mentality, and in the end came to the conclusion that most of them don't really believe the mod will ever come out. They just got used to saying this whenever they see someone new. Which is pretty much the only time their forums get any activity at all...

So we have this mad little community, kept together by pure, undiluted stupidity. Classic example of something tiny and irrelevant making a big and scary appearance.

Oh dear, if I ever fulfill my dream of writing a fantasy/sci-fi novel, I will be sure to include TG cultists as a minor plot mechanism.

It still depresses me. I held off finishing Kotor 2 when I started playing it because I heard of this mod. 3 years ago I allready realised that this was a stupid decision of me, but somehow I never got to replaying it.

The whole leak and the drama following it and the quick update that followed it even gave me a bit of hope that they might actually get their act together. Now it seems the guy in charge cut his losses and ran. What keeps me checking on the mod instead of playing the leaked version is the unadulterated idiocy on their forums. I still have a hard time believing people can be so cult like about a mod. It's almost creepy, but at the same time gives me probably more entertainment than playing the damn game ever could.

My stance on it is just that I'll replay KOTOR2 with when (if) it ever gets released. I think they've handled it in a pretty retarded way all together, but at the same time I'll be grateful if they finish it.

But yeah, if you feel like playing the game, just play it now. While the mod will have some good changes, I don't think it'll be the "omg teh game is totally different and kickass now wheras it sucked before1!1!!" that many people have hyped it up to be.

I already played KotOR2 way back when. Since it is gameplay and D&D rule system that disgusted me with both KotORs I never expected much from this mod. In fact I've only been anticipating this since the whole leaked beta buzz went up. I only expected the story to finally make some sense and to understand what Jasede and the other furry faggots liked so much about Keia. Reading docs is just not something for me... *shrug*

I didn't wait for years, I expect I can do without waiting for another few years^^

As for this drum of a thread, there's nothing that hasn't already been said. Only two legit reasons for banging it that I can see: either the RP's done, or the team admits it's over. Honestly - 'TG still not released mod'? This just in: Earth still in orbit of Sun.

I don't think TG can do anything about it. It's LucasArts that owns the game. And as for the cult, they may bitch and moan, but who cares? It's not like we're not used to that here.

I don't believe that the remnants of T-G have any intention of ever finishing the mod, and haven't for some time, since before the leak of the beta. I find it highly probable that it's long since degenerated onto a massive, attention-whoring, sadistically taunting inside joke on the KotOR modding community and KotOR players in general by T-G and the most favored members of their fanbase.

As far as someone else finishing it goes, there's only a few people that I know of with the ability to do it, and I seriously doubt that any of them would want to deal with the backlash of such an undertaking. And Drog is too busy with Arcanum to be bothered with this shit.

My advice to anyone who wants this mod is to download the leaked beta and work around the bugs instead of waiting for a release date that is by now obviously never coming.

Speaking of which: There isn't someone here who would be kind enough to upload the leak to RapidShare and provide a link, is there? There is a fresh crop of people who are fed up with T-G's bullshit and want to get their hands on the beta, but the torrent seems to be dead. I would do it myself, but I'm stuck on dialup and wouldn't be able to do get it uploaded before my ISP cuts me off. It would be a great help to all of those who want it. Thanks in advance!

Well, that's good to know. I've directed some people to TPB and they claimed that they still couldn't get it. I took the precaution of downloading it as soon as it was available out of fear that it would be taken down for some reason.
