The Stellar Converter is so cheesy powerful it's beyond amusing.
A death star type craft fitted with the time-warp facilitator and two stellar converterst, and if you're lucky with scrapping capped antaran ships/salvaged tech from orion, Xentronium armour and Damper fields, then a single such ship can take on the antaran home fleet on its own.
Did that in my game I just finished. Satisfying.
