Okay, I shouldn't take the bait, but anyway, it would've been more funny if you'd claimed that Black is your alt. Severe schizophrenia and self-trolling, now that would be a new level of entertainment
Surtur's Keep <--- This is actually a link (you can click it to listen to the briefing)
With him, you shall also deliver a message.
We have two special units available in this mission: Thestor
And Lord Surtur (mentioned by Persephone):
Our new unit (Scarab) is present as well:
It's our auto-regen guy!
Ed creates a Manalith and some units:
And tests his new spell:
There are some blue (non-hostile) units visible. We try to move close to them, when... a cutscene kicks in:
Oh, it's just Seerix harvesting some souls for her army...
Seeing us, she runs away.
Seerix. She's trouble.
Yup. Some REAL competition showed up at last.
She is working for Charnel.
If you're going to fight another wizard, you're going to have to desecrate her altar. If you just kill her, she can come back. But do remember, if she gets your altar, you'll be the one who's banished.
We have a new objective:
Stupid cunt left some red souls behind...
Let's put them to good use.
"Play dead" skill in action. Of course these Fallen will be dead very soon. For real this time.
That's 5 new souls for us. Ed creates another Manalith and orders some converting.
You can easily spot when converting is taking place at the altar (the huge black cloud).
Seerix attacks using some Scythes and Fallen, gets owned quickly.
She grabs some souls of her creatures but dies shortly after that. That means moar converting:
As you can see, she also has access to some bigger units in this mission (dead Necryl to the right and if I'm not mistaken, the corpse to the left belongs to a Deadeye)
Ed creates more units, Seerix attacks again
Having Thestor and Surtur on our side, we don't have to worry about the outcome of the battle.
Sac-doctors can use their magical... thingies once more:
Scarab is doing a good job as well, healing our units .
Our army expands:
Ed pwns some poor Locust who probably was on his way to attack our altar.
Too bad that his soul is lost, since his corpse ended up in the void...
We meet a new enemy creature - a Netherfiend (plus some Scythes)
Zyzyx has some PROTIP for Ed:
Which is totally useless against sniper units (Deadeyes):
Seerix loses another Manalith (she kills most of our Frostwolves, tho)
Some fucker is attacking our altar. We teleport back to it (sac-doctors are working hard as you can see)
Ed pwns the attacker - another Locust (and another soul lost). Goddamned air units!
Going back to every attacked structure would be a waste of time in the future. We should create some guardians instead (one Sylph for each Manalith should be enough)
We go back to the recently created Manalith and attack another one: this one has it's own guardians (Seerix is also guarding it, but she lost most of her units/souls to Ed already)
Yeah, whatever man... Done and done:
It's time to end this:
Seerix charges at us having only two Manahoars on her side
She's dead in no time. Her last Manalith and units guarding it are gone shortly after that.
Ed casts Desecration spell, sacrificing one of the Frostwolves:
Seerix comes back to life, only to be ultimately raped:
She's not dead (yet). She's just banished from this region.
Cutscene time!
Zyzyx tries to piss off a newly arrived female wizard:
Zyzyx!
Yes, it's "Lady Abraxus".
She is working for Stratos.
Of course. I bear a message:
Stratos has also some words for Ed:
Anyway:
Once again, no boon. I was thinking about going to the portal with Surtur before attacking Seerix, but:
Let's consult the F.A.Q.:
Defeat Seerix within 72,000 units of time (about 18 minutes)
Balance of Power <--- Yes, you guessed right - this one is clickable too...
Persephone and Stratos are obviously conspiring against me. This whole question of the "maw of doom" is so plainly a fabrication!
It matters not how oft your tongue protests innocence when your deeds do bare your heart's true villany. You have invaded our domain once again, and not merely in warfare come but with far crueler purpose!
The gnomes came to me for help. Apparently they are weary of your neglect and your incessant demands. Why should they continue to suffer for the comfort of savage and brutish beings like the Trolls?
I see only one savage and brutish being here.
Come now, you mustn't forget me!
Everyone wait! Haven't we all had enough of Wars?
It's time to another voting of course...

Level 3: At the third level is when the gods really start to differentiate from each other by having different creature types at different levels, as well as different types of spells. Most of the gods give you a slowing spell at this level. Slowing spells target one unit and slow or stop the movement of the target for a period of time, but can not target shielded wizards.
Slowing spell that can only target ground units. Vines come up from the ground and hold the creature in place for a time proportional to the target's maximum hitpoints. Excellent for stopping a retreating creature, or keeping a wizard from collecting souls, or isolating a manahoar.
Type: Melee
Passive Abilities: As it takes damage, its defenses increase. Therefore the more it takes damage the harder it is to kill.
Active Ability: None
GameFags said:
Taurock (2 Souls): Brawler unit that is really slow, but powerful once it gets into combat. The taurock has an innate ability that causes its defense to go up as it's hitpoints go down, which helps them stay alive long enough for you to heal them.
Cast this spell on a blue soul and a boulder sticking half-way out of the ground retrieves it for you. Note that once the boulder reaches the soul, the body that the soul came from is destroyed, which means that the soul becomes blue for everyone. Note also that if you let the "mole" just come back to you, it will take the same round-trip time no matter how far you are from the target soul. What this means is that the "mole" will travel really slowly if you are close to the target, and really quickly if you are far away. Therefore, Soul Mole is only useful from far away. The "mole" also knocks over anything in its path (friend or foe), but does no damage.
Slowing spell that creates a block of ice around the target, incapacitating it for a period of time proportional to its maximum hitpoints or until the unit is attacked. Freeze also does a little damage to the target. The damage is a nice bonus, and freeze keeps the target from doing anything.
Type: Melee
Passive Abilities: As it takes damage, it deals out more damage.
Active Ability: None
GameFags said:
Firefist (2 Souls): Firefists are Pyro's version of Trolls. Instead of the trolls' high regeneration, firefists' attack power goes up as their hitpoints go down.
Creating shrinking flame rings around the target, Rings of Fire is a slowing spell that slows the unit and does damage over time for the length of the spell.
Type: Air
Passive Abilities: Regenerates life when attacking.
Active Ability: Blightmites – Slows down enemy units via parasitic infection.
GameFags said:
Blight (2 Souls): The blight is a giant, rotting, undead vulture that is a bomber unit. Weaker and cheaper than the other bombers, blights have a special ability called "Blight Mites" that flings a bunch of insects at a target. A unit covered in Blight Mites is slowed and lowers the unit's defense.
A slowing spell, slime slows down a unit (both movement and attack speed), and lowers the target's defense. Slime lasts an amount of time proportional to the target's maximum hitpoints.
Taurock is probably the best unit this selection(as long as you remember to cast speed on it), but soulmole suckzors. Similarly, freeze is probably the best spell, but Squall is entirely useless.
My vote therefore goes to Pyro, who has a decent unit and spell.
I was going to suggest either Persephone or Stratos, because their new creatures look awesome, but if you prefer to work for a different god, let's go with Pyro.
EDIT : Okay, I'm going back to my original idea : more Persephone !
I was going to suggest either Persephone or Stratos, because their new creatures look awesome, but if you prefer to work for a different god, let's go with Pyro.
Both the Squalls and the Blights are terrible units. If I remember correctly, I did the third mission for Persephone. Her Trolls were a great replacement for the shitty Frostwolves and the Grasping Vines spell is extremely useful throughout the whole game. James's Taurock is the best unit overall on this level but his spell is a waste of mana. Pyro's mission sounds quite interesting and the Firefist sounds useful.
Ed creates a manalith (notice different effect for magic)
Summons some units and checks out his altar
Our enemy is close
There is also another altar here
What is SHE doing here?
Buta shows up. He has two manahoars and a single flaming troll:
We pwn some of his units when suddenly... a cutscene kicks in.
Two female wizards warp in:
I will say one thing. She's fast and very skilled. Or is that two things?
We met her in previous mission.
We were controlling her during the tutorial.
It's time for Charnel's divine intervention:
Buta!
You see what I see, Ambassador. Perhaps it's time Charnel and Pyro were allied as well.
You are woefully deficient in the ways of etiquette, but you have a point. In the name of Pyro, I accept!
A 2x2 total clusterfuck on small map?
Alright. I'm not gonna describe the battle in detail.
Everybody who played a RTS in his life should know that it's a total mess most of the time.
Generally speaking, I've concentrated on harvesting all possible souls that enemy creatures left.
Abraxus (blue) attacked Buta (yellow), killing some of his creatures. A perfect moment for Ed to join the battle:
Family photo of four armies fighting (green units - Shakti's army):
Shakti's trolls gave us some trouble, but she wasn't using them very efficiently
Ed wasn't the only one trying to convert their souls (Buta's sac-doctor at work)
A single troll attacked our only manalith. Ed pwned him single-handedly
Buta and Shakti fighting. Ed doing his job (converting):
A close-up on Buta and his army
Buta was so kind, that he attacked a heavily-guarded Shakti's manalith, giving Ed a perfect opportunity for a small desecration:
Shakti realizes her mistake
But it's too late...
Goddamned amateurs...
Ed creates his 2nd manalith
Buta rushes at Abraxus. We follow him close (he's only 8 kills behind).
Abraxus doesn't have a chance against two wizards
Ed tries desecrating, but Buta is faster this time
We have a dialogue option here, but the choice is p. obvious:
It's only unfortunate that you are not so skilled as a sorcerer.
Uncouth mercenary. I will not stand for such an insult.
I seen him all around the Glebe, rallying folks with talk of the prophecy of Mithras and some fellow Ashur who'll save 'em all.
Enough of your womanish whining!
What!?
You will not distract Pyro with these ridiculous tales. Why don't you give up already?
Pyro is right. If you cannot keep your followers' faith, that is your problem, James.
Alright. It's time for another voting. But this one will be different - I will explain why after unit/spell/mission description.

Level 4: Soul costs for creatures differ between gods on spell levels four through six. Generally, though, the creatures are fairly balanced, with the cheaper creatures being a little bit weaker (of course you can afford more, though). Also, spells of this level or higher (known exceptions noted below) generally make your wizard stand still while casting.
Type: Ranged
Passive Abilities: Shots strike their target instantly when fired. Allows for a greater chance of hitting moving targets.
Active Ability: None
GameFags said:
Gnome (2 Souls): Sniper unit that carries a gun which makes their shots hit instantly.
This is a great healing spell, that heals five of your units. You target the first unit and then the rainbow bounces to four others. Rainbow is really cheap and has very low cooldown time, and can easily turn the tide in a battle. This spell does not require stationary casting.
Type: Ranged
Passive Abilities: Rock attacks cause earth tremors around the target. All units in the area are temporarily stunned. Useful for interrupting spell casting.
Active Ability: None
GameFags said:
Flummox (3 Souls): This lumbering unit, lobs boulders at enemies from afar. When the boulders hit, they create a shockwave that knocks down nearby units.
The targeted ground swells up and pops, like a pimple, tossing units around. Erupt has a nice area of effect and is good for softening up a charging army or killing off some retreating units (the units take damage when they land).
Type: Melee
Passive Abilities: A storm giant’s passive abilities are activated via its special ability, "Call Lightning." When struck by lightning, a Storm Giant gets enhanced statistics, despite taking some initial electrical damage this powering-up also causes the giant to spew electricity in all directions.
Active Ability: Call Lightning – This ability calls down the lightning bolt from the heavens to activate the Giant’s passive "power-up" ability.
GameFags said:
Storm Giant (2 Souls): Storm Giants are brawler units with the "Call Lightning" special ability. Storm Giants have an innate ability that causes them to take less damage from lightning attacks than normal, and for a decent amount of time after the lightning hits a storm giant, the storm giant becomes stronger and shoots lightning off of himself at units close by. Call Lightning causes a lightning bolt from the sky to strike the storm giant, which triggers its innate ability.
Shoots lightning at an enemy, the lightning shoots to the nearest enemy within range each time, hitting up to five targets. Chain Lightning is a great spell for killing flyers or just hurting a bunch of units.
Type: Ranged
Passive Abilities: Attack instantly hits enemies, setting them alight. While on fire, enemy units lose health at a significant rate.
Active Ability: None
GameFags said:
Pyromaniac (2 Souls): Pyromaniacs look like evil gnomes, and shoot rockets at enemies. The rockets do a large amount of damage over a short period of time.
A dragon made out of fire flies at the target and then goes after two more enemies if there are any in range. The dragon can realistically hit more than three enemies, by flying through other units on the way to their target. Dragonfire is great for taking out flyers or dealing damage.
Type: Melee
Passive Abilities: None
Active Ability: Devour- By activating this ability, a Netherfiend is able to consume a blue soul of a fallen comrade on the battlefield. Doing so will increase its attack power and resistance to damage.
GameFags said:
Netherfiend (2 Souls): Brawler unit with the special ability "Devour" which allows Netherfiends to eat blue souls. For each soul devoured, the fiend gains maximum hitpoints and a permanent defense bonus. Keep in mind that each soul gives diminishing returns (each consecutive soul gives less of a bonus) and that these souls never come back. Make sure to heal these between battles since they don't regenerate.
With Animate Dead, you target a blue soul from a dead body (it can't be used on gibbed souls) and within a couple seconds the unit is revived with full health and mana. This spell costs about the same mana as a manahoar, which is to say almost none, and is ready to use again once a casting is complete. This spell does not require stationary casting.
Current voting is much more important than the previous ones.
After you listen to the briefings of either Persephone, James or Stratos, Charnel and Pyro will speak to you:
Similarly, after the briefings of Pyro or Charnel, James, Persephone and Stratos will have something to say:
It looks like there are two factions at the moment: the forces of "good" and the forces of "evil".
Choosing a mission offered by a god from one faction will anger all gods from the other faction (more or less permanently).
So this time you should choose rather your "favorite" god (or some other god from his/her faction) than "the best" god unit/spell/mission-wise.
Future treachery is still (very) possible, so don't worry about this too much...
Current karma (it's gonna be thrown out the window soon, but let's post it for clearance's sake):
