We proceed on the road a little bit and see an acropolis.
It a... temple! Makes sense.
Killian is the goodess of love, foresters and sailors. The strangest combo I've ever seen, but whatever.
The game doesn't tell you any of that however - so you might think she's the goddess of the cold according to these descriptions.
Teleport! Yes, teleporting to Krondor would be nice.
Hiding his hands in robes? I wonder if the acolytes of this world has as much trouble with the priests as our own Catholic altar boys...
Sounds like something that could go very wrong... Come to think of it - it was one of the things Deadfire got right.
Naturally the privilege of being disassembled into tiny particles and possibly put together in the right way again would also cost us financially. In all seriousness though - this stuff works without fail in the game.
Since this is the first time we've seen one of this - we also see this bit. Looks like the priests can't help us out go anywhere in the world. We first have to see the other mandalas in order to travel to them.
We click on the rear door of the temple.
Lets try talking. Seems like this temple does have some thematic aspects for its goddess after all.
This was a strange conversation... And served as another bizzarre tutorial - inspect the rations that you find. But it comes a bit late, we've already found a lot of spoiled and even one bit of poisoned rations.
Lets see what blessing is all about.
From memory - blessing tends to be expensive, but nice when you find best in slot items to make them even more overpowered.
Actually that seems affordable... Unfortunately Killian is a minor goddess so the blessing is probably only going to be 5%.
We make our exit instead.
As we go a little further - the cliffs on both sides start to recede and little paths start going off. Searching for hidden loot becomes harder.
The first side path ends with some campfires.
But as I head back and towards the next side path I notice a chest I had somehow missed.
It's a wordlock.
The puzzle is so easy I don't waste Codex' time with it.
The lockpicks are welcome, we were down to 1.
Second path has some kind of a gate. Does it lead to an abandoned mine?
Oh its a shop.
Lol, sounded like we stumbled upon the Butcher for a second. But I guess we instead found that hermit repairman someone mentioned to us.
Damn, I really wish we could buy an armorer's hammer instead. But I guess its hard to argue with the guy's logic.
Either he gets a lot of business or he's collecting. I wish they would elaborate on why this guy is called 'the Animal'.
Lets see how it works.
Well - Gorath's armor cannot be replaced for now, and we don't have a hammer to repair it with. So lets see how much it'd cost.
Wow... Yeah, no. The armorer's hammer is worth a fraction of that and has like 20 charges. I'm sure we'll find a shop that sells one eventually.
We leave and move on. Around these parts we see some different looking guys in the woods with their swords out.
Stealth check is failed once again.
2 enemies charge. One seemingly for Owyn and one for Gorath. No strikes made.
Owyn blinds the guy charging him.
Locky charges that blind guy and hits for 14.
He's charged by last enemy and missed. Gorath swings and misses the same guy.
The other enemy finishes his charge at Gorath and hits him for 14. Owyn blinds the guy that just hit Gorath.
Locky misses his attacker and is missed in turn.
Gorath thrusts at the guy he attacked previously. Its a hit for 22!
Owyn re-blinds that guy.
Locky hits his attacker for 14. Gets swung at - and missed in turn.
Gorath misses the just re-blinded guy.
Somehow that guy comes back to his senses - charges and misses Owyn. I'm not quite sure how the blind works - I assumed it was always 2 rounds but... sometimes it seems to wear off quicker.
Hoping to finish that guy since he got hit for 36 damage previously - Owyn swings at him. It's a hit! For 12 damage.
Locky's round is a repeat of the last one. Hit for 14 on the enemy and missed on with a swing.
Hoping to finish Owyn's enemy in order to restore his ability to blind Gorath charges and hits that guy for 23. But that enemy is still up!
Gorath's attacker comes back to his senses and charges and misses Gorath.
Owyn tries to swing again, but misses this time.
Locky misses this time. His opponent misses him again with a swing. I wonder why that guy is always swinging.
Gorath finally finishes Owyn's opponent with a hit for 25. Missed by his attacker.
Finally free of a pesky enemy - Owyn blinds Gorath's opponent.
Locky misses again. But is hit with a back swing for 14
Gorath misses.
Owyn blinds Locky's opponent.
Locky hits that guy for 14.
And Gorath misses again.
I rest with Owyn. My fighters should train their defense skills!
Locky hits his opponent for 14 again - that guy is still up. These guys are tanks!
Gorath hits his guy for 22. Is missed in turn.
Owyn charges and hits Locky's enemy for 4.
Locky hits that guy for 16 and finally puts him down.
Gorath hits his enemy for 22 again. Is not attacked in return - the enemy is probably defending.
Owyn charges and hits him for 4 - apparently the guy was not defending. Maybe resting?
Locky charges and hits him for 16. He's still up but must be on death's door.
Gorath misses, and the enemy runs but barely moves due to low health.
Owyn can't get in range due to some pathing strangeness, Locky misses. And so does Gorath.
Enemy moves away a little more. Owyn chases and misses. Locky hits for 16 though. The fight is over.
There's a chest behind them too, perhaps they were defending it.
Those rations were good.
More cash!
And that whetstone has a lot more charges than the other ones we've been finding.
Think this is the only game I've seen where you can inspect a note and NOT get its contents - but a description of what the note looks like.
You have to actually use it (double click) to get its contents. So these guys were Pirates or something? We're not on an uncharted island, why keep booty here?
More of that key. Perhaps this box uses it. But the key is used elsewhere - would that really prevent others from getting in.
So this means its either trapped or locked.
I decide to play safe with the box due to the mysterious warning.
Which turns out to be a good call.
So Locky's skill is 28%. I'll leave it to the Codex. Should we attempt to disarm or leave this box behind? I'll probably try to heal to full before trying to disarm if we vote to do so.
We're fairly close to the village of Hawk's Hollow by the way.
