Look how powerful the magnalites are, need a srs nerf

Ssh, don't say that outloud or Dio will hear you! They're even more useful if you throw them like grenades, as they're oversized flares. Flame arrows work to set people on fire and devastate morale, panicking them.

Sadly, eventually you'll run into people with excellent night vision, so the flashlights won't be that useful anymore.

Random note, having added Close Quarters accuracy to the table, just the printout, I realize that I need another attack type, cqc.
To check how dangerous enemies are. Cause the numbers in the table are based on ranged accuracy for snap, aimed, auto.

And I didnt realize that the flintlock pistol has 115% cqc...
The snubby, not in the updates, also stands out as danger danger.
Silenced pistol, a prize, a custom weapon for lokknarrs with high cqc acc, and dmg bonus based on reactions.
Most shotguns though, 80 cqc and below, oasis is basically untouchable by em.

So if I dont manage to bring down a Drifter with a Manstopper (str_colt45) and stand infront of him with 0 evasion but 30 armor (kinda like the warrior armor),
I can expect 25 dmg, if he fires full turn with 110% accuracy, and 1.0 modifier (they dont have 1.0 modifier... hopefully), and all snaps.
Now I have to add evasion...

I'm not gonna say you should go 100% ironman(supermutant) because of things like a certain timed mission that leads to a team wipe and the late game search for the last VIP but if you're just save scumming casually...

Well, I havent reloaded missions yet. In the current updates... except for the Strix.... xD But lets just say, that in the future, IF I were to land in a freezing mission and full squad takes damage because my armor is too tiny.
Than I would reload and rearm. Or something like a blaster bomb taking most of the squad. Because really, what this shit is doing is just prolonging the bullshit.

I feel like the game is already at the breaking point tactically. Im repeating the same actions over and over and over. Camp, stun, break LOS, camp, stun, break LOS...
The novelty of melee, instead of the original Xcom with 'camp, shoot, break LOS', is wearing off. And I dont see it getting any better without pulling tricks like voodoo or blasterbombs or chrysalids on roids...

I reloaded just to check if the game would throw 2 temples in a row like that again. It did.

INdeed. The beginning of the game is eventually boring and ironically medium-walkthrough and beyond encourage you to skip doing ground missions.

You'll get better once you start using firearms... But see above.

That's an issue with the random seed generator. Be sure that the "anti-savescum" option is selected in options, and save at the end of a month. That's when missions are generated.

Yeah, I wonder how youtubers played the entire game. They usually use exploits that eventually are patch out by the devs themselves. For example, did you know that you used to be able to capture enemy units by abandoning a mission with the enemy standing on the craft's escape tiles? No longer.

Yep, you need a Wrench to progress. Good luck finding one if RNG and randomly given research topics are unfair to you.

ut you've been playing in a hyper-optimized way with dmg calculators and capture-focus, which will inevitably end up very samey instead of something more organic. And you're in the early game haven't even scratched the surface of mission types yet. Underwater scuba, dungeon crawling, sieging a fortress...

UNfortuantely the game does encourage a certain way to play, that is to capture everyone possible to get max money and slaves*, so tedium is inevitable. Things change once you have an economy working, but it takes ages to get there and devs keep prolonging the start by doing shit like reducing the number of workshops per base to 1 and so on.

*That reminds me: Slavegal , once again I recommend you to download the Ivan's mods from the xpiratez forum, it's totally worth it and helps speed up micromanagement crap like enslaving Savvy girls.

You can have as many as you want of them, they give you negative storage space and if you have accumulated enough can let you reduce weight to 0 storage or less, which means that you can have more shit in your bases. Higher quality slaves give you more profit at the end of the month.

Works like a charm

Remember that the flashlight also illuminates your unit, hence why the enemy can see them. Place it somewhere in yuor inventory after using.

Not worth underwater missions until you have Chiller gear at least, IMO. Or even better: A specialized base for these missions.

I don't understand what you're doing with the magnalites, are you trying to get shot at from afar?

You're not supposed to do any movement that can attract reaction fire, just put them on for a peak at the landscape during your turn then quickly take them off.

My guess is he doesn't have the equipment slots w/ shield armor and is being lazy.

Lazy is a good guess. But I'd change it if I've seen any reaction fire in my direction at all, I must say...
I dont remember any at all.
My best guess is that I have really high reactions and TU on the torch carriers, easiest to use.

Put evasion into the script and Ingrid would barely scratch us with firearms in melee if we had 40 evasion. Slavegal isnt faring well either.

50 evasion tanks us into safety vs Ingrid. oasis has 80 evasion.
The accuracy multiplier for cqc is usually melee/2+reactions/2 though. So something like ratmen and ninjas are better of than Ingrid.

Practically, its even more than 6 TU. Its like around 10-15... On off weapon...

You might not see it on the screens but they have massive range. Its at least double the 12 tiles. ...maybe, Im not sure, but its very perceivable.

Like here, I spot him at 12 while otherwise it would have been 7?
It backfires spectacularly here, cause I should have just bashed him. Instead I eat a flintlock shot like a camper should.
But typically you can see enemies much farther and dont need to dance. Or can just shoot em.
You see someone at 20 tiles, move forward even!, put away the Lite and have used much less TU and energy as you would have otherwise. And still be mostly safe.

You can always bash with the shield or the flashlight itself, in a pinch.

Now if I did the dash forward/backward maneuver Im using loads of energy and skipping every second turn. Here I just casually walk around the corner. And put away the Lite for 6 TU and no energy cost.

It doesnt :> but right now I dont carry anything big, its handles, knuckles and batons. Single strike of a pipe borderline kills a ninja gal.
Thats typically it for inventory. And I had only 3 Lites and used 2 up until now.

Your choice Cap. The van goes further than the bus and is faster thsn the blowfish. You could sell the bus and buy the van with the difference.

ok, but what was the point of using magnalites at all? Is the 12 tile NV not enough? Swapping the magnalite in and out of QS is 6 TUs, so you could have moved another tile that turn.

Magna lites are something like 20 tiles + you use your NV to see past that. So it's ~20 tiles lit (takes half of your 40 daylight sight range) + 6 tiles NV (the other half of your sight) = 26 tiles vision. Not entirely sure on the math though, and I think Piratez might alter how lighting works to begin with.

It's even more insane if you can lob them like flares across the map since you'll take advantage of the full diameter rather than radius while remaining in the shadows yourself. Takes a bunch of strength though.

Why aren't you using your belt slots? It will let you reload for less TU. Also, buying/ fabricating first aid kids is way better than carrying bandages.

The damage type is electric duh. Why do you want it alive though? You wont' be able to make much of this for a while and takes space.

From vanilla XCOM: Sleeping units in your inventory automatically leave next to the carrier if they wake up. So carrying around KO'ed Chrysallids to avoid them prematurely awakening is not a good idea.

Later on you'll learn the Gals' stat cap, if you don't already. Either way, you can go beyond the cap if you roll lucky in combat. Freaks break the caps by default, but they're not cheap to maintain.

They don't have much of a choice when the map is an annoying labyrinth.

You must kill the traitor muties to get the reward actually. Capturing is not worth the hassle this time, as you have to manufacture the "Kill Traitor" project and waste time to get the tokens.

This might now have looked like much but this missino took me the longests, prolly more than an hour
fucking hated it
