Let's talk about Lacrymas' homebrew fantasy setting where paladins are eunuchs

Paladins aren't slaves. They are actually revered for their devotion and role in society. They also aren't forced to stay to be a guard in the city, they can fight in the arena and/or become adventurers.

Well, Lacrymas, you're an odd fellow.
Not really, at least not in this case. My setting just seems odd to people who have never felt the arbitrary (social) rules of our society on their own backs. There is nothing in my setting which hasn't been done by us through history, sometimes for even less of a legit reason.

Ok name one militant order of moral exemplars who would get castrated by the Church if they got laid.

It's never a 1-to-1 comparison, I'm not retelling history. I took the castration of Paladins from the operatic castrati, but it's not like castration hasn't been practiced as a punishment.

And second of all, who the fuck likens exemplary paragon soldiers to high pitched singers?

When it happens isn't really the point. There are accounts of cathedral chapters being castrated for disobedience. This is just why the people in my setting practice castration - as a punishment when breaking your vow of chastity. There is a nice ancient symmetry of punishing the offending part here. They being soldiers hardly changes anything, especially since they have magical powers.

They don't become Paladins and remain Fighters, still in the service of the church, I guess. I haven't thought about it.

But if they have sex, it's snip snip time?
Yes (if you get caught), especially when you are an unauthorized baby. They see the vow of chastity as poetic justice and a kind of reparation.
Wow. So, your mom did something, you get kidnapped, enslaved and be held under a vow you never agreed to and it is poetic justice when you want to have kids???

Please, keep digging your grave deeper and deeper.

Yes, you pay for the arbitrary sins of your fathers, welcome to reality. They see it as poetic justice because you were misbegotten.

No, it's not "social justice", it's just how this society is. It just so happens we've done (and still do in some cases) the same things these people have done. Is there something that isn't social justice to you people? When a setting is "diverse", it's social justice, when it's not "diverse" and "diversity" is actively punished it's also social justice.

Lacrymas, isn't it problematic that the womxn of your setting must've lost a baby before joining the barbarian sisterhoods? Are you saying that transwomxn aren't womxn? :smug:
Yeah, in a setting where gays are branded with a mark of shame and shunned, dwarves and halflings are mutant abominations, and unlawful paladins are castrated, transwomen are brave and stunning stars deserving of every ounce of privilege they are naturally granted.

Is there anything in this setting not designed specifically to make the inhabitants miserable?
