I enjoyed the first two as guilty pleasure kinda games. I wouldn't recommend either though.

First one had it's charm and nice story. It's was ok non rpg. In second game it was fun to fuck around with npcs and the world was larger.

Sometimes a chick is just really fucking ugly. They even replicated her fucked up teeth.

We should instead be asking why use that chick as a model in the first place.

are any fable games worth playing
Not really. It's pretty standard template Molyneux, which these days has some interesting quirks, he was a weird sort of left field auteur developer so there's that. It also actually allows for evil playthroughs which are rare as rocking horse shit in supposed rpgs these days. Sure, it's camp and cheesy and generally crap but you can do 'evil' and they didn't cheap out on it. I probably wouldn't bother.

Molyneux wanted to make his own Ultima with Fable but it landed on its feet. The moral sides are a bit cartoony yeah but I wonder if this was the last high profile rpg where you could actually pull an evil run and having it not be an "actually i'm just an asshole as opposed than truly evil" type deal.

Or tyrannys cop out on going the whole hog with it, yeah. Same with God games - Black and White looking back now is like as good as it ever got with the same options for evil. I remember how much shit got flung at Molyneux back in the day for not delivering on grandoise claims but these days with shit like Todd Howard and so on just straight lying through their teeth....I wish we still had devs like him.

But can you customize the mc or you are forced to play as that abomination?

I don't think Peter knew what he was saying when he said we could see trees grow in real time, but yeah. For all of his flaws Molyneux was actually an innovator and a creative dev.

Dutch oven is from long before I was even born.

What else does Dutch oven mean? In cooking, a Dutch oven is a type of heavy pot with a lid. But in slang, a Dutch oven is when you pass gas in bed and pull the covers over someone else's head, trapping it in like a Dutch oven traps heat.

Can we all just agree that everything is ugly? The in-game model, the "real life model", and the mentally ill dev that looks strangely like the in-game model?

I mean, it seems we already all agree on it, let's just make it official?

For all of his flaws Molyneux was actually an innovator and a creative dev.
He wasn't just an innovator but a competent White straight man that knew how to code, not just C but since he started out in the early days he'd write in assembly too. A far cry from incompetent tranny abominations that want to put the final nail in the British game dev scene's coffin, and that of their race as well. Molyneux was a huge presence in the 90's and 00's, so much so he was thanked in Homeworld's credits next to Scott Lynch, Sierra's VP that funded the game's development, and George Lucas for pioneering the space dogfight genre in film.

As Molyneux was developing Black & White, the peak of the god game genre niche that he invented in the fist place with Populous, he'd spend time playing boardgames wtih Ian Livingstone, Steve Jackson (yes, that Steve Jackson), and Clive Robert among others. The man was deeply passionate about the medium and the legacy he left with the games Bullfrog and Lionhead made will probably never be matched. The reason I'm saying all this though is because it can't be stressed enough that all culture, media, and creative produce is derived from the people or person making it. You will never get another Syndicate, Magic Carpet, Dungeon Keeper, Black & White, Theme Hospital or Populous since there are no Molyneuxes in the industry anymore. You won't even get the games he had ideas for after he peaked, like the original Fable or the highly experimental The Movies. This kind of person isn't just not in the industry anymore, they don't exist at all and you'll not find anyone in him in the current generation that is supposedly peaking right now in their creative and technical output.
