I actually kind of like the art design, but this is pretty incredible.

I picture Roberta and Ken aboard this laughing about having gotten it while the getting was good.

So yet another shitty QTE ACTION! game labeled as an adventure game (remember when Adventure games made you think? NOW JUST PRESS A BUTTON! OMG! AWESOME!).

Not at all surprised. Hope this shit crashes and burns.

The only part I liked what the art direction of the first few seconds before the appearance of the oddly shiny Sir Graham cosplayer: someone could probably make an interesting game with an art-style like a pop-up children's book.

"Hey ! The indie platform genre is enjoying a new breath ! Looks like Telltale's getting popular once again ! You know what to do : Let's turn King's Quest into a shitty action game ! "

FTFY

Edit: Could we change the thread's title so "reloaded" is replaced with "retarded"? I think that'd work better.

Jesus.

That was awful. It's an especially bitter pill considering all the PR bollocks that was shoveled fans' way a scant month ago when the Williams' and The Odd Gentlemen were fluffing each other like crazy over their "bold new take on the KQ franchise".

Who the fuck are they trying to market this towards?

Ugh.
Just fuck everyone.
The Codex was right.
Life is shit and then you die.
Fuck.

I just watched that trailer.

For fuck's sake, I'd rather have a remake of Mask of Eternity than THAT.

Ron Gilbert's The Cave was such a smashing success, proving that platforming is the adventure game genre's future, so clearly the next King's Quest should be just like that except with an over the shoulder camera for maximum immersion.

:hmmm:

I doubt this will even feature proper platforming. It will be worse. It will be Q. T. E.

After Fallout 3, this is perhaps the most butthurt I ever felt about a game from my childhood getting raped. King's Quest VI is easily on my Top 10 games of all time, and had one of the most powerful moments in gaming:

Truly, everything is shit.

Move thread to general gaming please, or maybe we could have a subforum for popamole "adventure games"?

I had a sweet KQ marathon. Now, near the finish line I see two odd gentlemens. One is keeping a strap-on in his hand, the other one with lubricant. I refuse to finish this marathon. Making a platform game with some Telltale graphic vibes. I suspected something adventure-light but still was able to be amazed by the trailer. You could just put any other title and it still would work. Leave the Old Ones in peace.

Eh, at least you must do the platforming yourself, not "press Awesome button to jump log in slow-mo".

I cannot believe that Mask of Eternity will now be the second-worst KQ game...

What saddens me the most is how EVERYONE on Twitter except for me & Bee are excited for this. And there are even fucking game journalists downright saying "never played the originals, but I'm excited for this!"

In the end, it will be like Fallout: "There's a Fallout 1 and 2?". Oh man, thank god for the Codex...

Where is the 'vomiting violently' emoticon?
Also, this thread shouldn't be in adventure gaming.

Reminds me of how excited people were when EA announced that Sierra was 'coming back', they legitimately didn't understand that all the original talent was long-gone and all they're doing is lending legitimacy to reusing their IP's by puppeting the Sierra logo around like a rotting corpse Weekend at Bernie's style.

If you truly want to get depressed, check the news releases and the excited comments below said articles. A lot of people are very happy about this.

A french gaming website (known to be shit, but one of the biggest here) even news-ed that it looks true to its roots.
