Who is this everyone?everyone on the internet says the first game isn't even a good "game" so how could it be better than this one? Is this another case of the first game had a better story but bad gameplay so it was better?

Nier 1's gameplay wasn't even that bad, unless you are one of these people think gameplay=combat, but even then the combat is just sub-par. Heck, the bosses are more memorable in the original Nier.

And Platinum'd (yes, console untermensch here). I'm not really good at reviewing shit, so no wall-of-text from me. Sank 80 hours in it and will replay, so I don't regret spending my moneyz on it. I think no aspect of the game manages to be brilliant, but, overall, the game is more than the sum of its parts and is a very charming experience. If you own a PS4 or know someone with a PS4, there's a demo out and it's worth trying out before you buy.
Ahhh come on, the gameplay is definitely not more varied in the first game. You might have more downtime between fights, but it's still basically fighting, story stuff, or running between locations. Hell, Automata is more varied for all the shmup and hacking sections. And the combat itself is more varied due to better enemy variety, moves, weapons, upgrades, etc.. I don't want to bag on the first game too much, I agree that the gameplay wasn't that bad, but it was absolutely improved in Automata.Which part of the gameplay was good? The level designs, for one. Facade's dungeon and Emil's mansion are better than anything in Nier 2. Bosses are better. Gameplay is much more varied in Nier 1 compared to 2 50 hours of fighting.

PC port is kinda crap. You need community patch to fix it (mainly native rendering and performance)I've played the demo on PSN and liked it. Should I buy it on PS4 (non Pro) or PC? Any big differences?
