In one of the early BigTiggles streams the game glitched and it did show the multi-tool just floating there. That was confirmation enough that the player character isn't rendered.

Now that's not out of the ordinary for a first person game, especially one like this where so much else has to be rendered, but I'm doubting that a player model exists as well.

I guess we'll see when people data mine the PC version.

:D

Dunno if someone already posted it, but Sean included a special, touching letter in review copies :o

So I still don't get it.

Is this game online only? People keep saying it's SP but then they talk about MP features. Can this game be played offline in SP entirely or you have to be online for some sorry excuse of DRM to function?

I haven't even heard of this game until last week when suddenly everyone started talking about its release.

So, how's the drama? If the game's shit I don't know how could anyone be surprised, it was very clear that everything about this was going to be a shit.
So, did they fucked up a little bit, or did they went full Molyneux?

I agree that Sean Murray was intentionally ambiguous about the multiplayer thing.... but on the other hand, less multiplayer in gaming is a good thing usually.

Another thing that I dislike about the game is that it seems that there are not civilizations at all.
Apart from some NPCs and animals/monsters, you are completely alone, in a galaxy with 10[...]00 planets. Oook.

Haha, had it coming. Enjoy paying your $60 fee, people!

So, it's pretty much like that Flower game, only with shittier graphics and the thrill of discovering barren planets. Hooray.

No way. This kind of game begs for the ability to collaborate or grief other players (which molyneux jr. said would be possible in that vid btw)

I think I'll install Privateer: the Darkening instead. That IS a good game. Or more accurately it was.

So when a bunch of people are confused about the supposed multiplayer aspects of the game - whether they were part of the marketing campaign or not - and this asshole makes a deliberately vague statement that basically says nothing either way rather than just spelling out if the feature exists or not. Yeah, he's definitely not trying to mislead people so they'll buy his shitty space simulator.

The hype machine isn't something they can control directly, but they're not even making an effort to correct misinformation.

Jim "Blubberblubber" Sterling's site got DDoSed or something because of his 5/10 review of this game.
