found a good text on steam

indie devs don't work like these mammoth studios. They work as long as the kickstarter allows them too, and then once they get more money, they make more content. The guys already said they are not even close to even thinking about the end of this game, and base building and owning one of those giant freightors is next on the list. Honestly this is kind of like early access. I expect 5-6 free content upgrades, further changes regarding the inventory system, and some more graphical polishing before any paid expansion is even introduced. Chill out guys. Also, they never said this was a game focused on space combat and building an empire. It's a game about being a nomad. More survival elements should be added though.

My favorite reviews went:

"Yes Men's Sky" (nothing else in the review )

"HELLO GAMES should change their name to GOODBYE GAMES"

"The refund button works" (Positive review)

I can say a positive thing about this game! Soundtrack is really good.
Other than that this is just a grind game, exploraiton part dies as soon as you repair your ship and "explore" planets with it.

I said it's not shit, just unfinished.

So it's shit confirmed. Even by yourself. Or why would spend so much time in this thread to convince us, instead of embracing the "awesomeness" and play this game?

The proc generation by Sean Murray is nothing short of amazing and can produce amazing vistas and sights - this is the main aspect of the game. The base foundation of the house that is NMS, it IS there, but in current state the only thing. Now comes the part to add more features so the game has 'more to do'

Hmm, prices on Kinguin already fell by 1 euro. Granted, they were overinflated to begin with, but that's quick.

I feel really bad for the people who gobbled all the hype surrounding the game.

Anyone could made himself a picture by watching some independent gameplay videos a week before release. Anyone could see how repetitive and boring this game was. Nowadays with so many unfinished and broken games coming out, you'd expect people to inform themselves before they spend money on... but obviously not

What this game was supposed to be?
From what they showed: You fly to planets and name procedurally generated animals and plants. You meet some static "aliens" in buildings to learn words. You harvest resources to be able to fly to the next planet. If you kill animals you get hunted by probes you have to shoot down.

Everything else was a product of a self-referencing hype machine.

Hey Makabb. Just saying, but this is now the perfect time for you to move up a level.

If you own up to your mistakes now most people would probably forgive, and you could become a respected member of this community like Andhaira did. And in many ways you appear to be his foster child.

But you don't do this by doubling up on the shit you fabricate. It wasn't funny in the first place and it sure isn't funny now. (ok it was funny, but only in a indeliberate way at your expense)

You shouldn't pretend that this is irony or anything. This is actually the best advice I can give you, sometimes in very rare moments you get that on the Codex.

I have to hand it to them, they managed to make the launch even more of a salty shitstorm by fucking up the PC port. The game being garbage wasn't enough for them, they had to go full decline. Sean Murray has learned well from the masters.

One Man's Lie selling like hotcakes.

Peter Molyneux would be proud of you, Sean.
Molyneux must be kicking himself. He was too far ahead of his time. He tried the massive-over-promise-and-under-deliver schtick back in the days before pre-purchases, when demos still existed and when reviewers weren't bought and paid for. When people still voted with their wallets.

If he had just waited a few years, he too could have cashed in on millennial morons pre-ordering landscape simulators for $60, bitching about it on the twittertubes and generating even more hype.

Remember those junkware games back in the mid 90s in the bargain bin at electronic stores that sold based on their title/cover art/bulleted features advertised on cover?

That's what this garbage reminds me of.

Yeah, don't do it. I'm looking forward to your next thread about how the GTX 1180 will have 580 GB of RAM, cost $200 and how it will perform in benchmarks compared to an equally not-yet-announced AMD card.
