Yes, Mastermind, everybody knows that your butthurt about the Codex is without equal, but it's always welcome to hear about it from time to time.

I thought it was just 10 people? Now it's "the codex"? Make up your mind skyway.

Haha, awwww, come on. Is Fallout combat your ideal? I seriously can't think of a single TB RPG with really good combat.

That's because:

1. You only played Fallout.
2. You're a moron.
3. Both of the above.
So name me a sweet TB CRPG, homeboy. Geneforge?
No, really, please go away
lol, i've been here since 2004. TB combat on the computer just feels pointless. Even AoD combat is boring -- the parts of it that aren't fully scripted/automated.

Oh well why didn't you tell me that means you must be right

All the information you want and need is here on this site, there are even a few members still not malformed enough that they will help you find the games you're looking for, but come in huffing and puffing like this and you can just go right out the way you came in no matter when you accidentally stumbled across us looking for Anomen slashfic
This place is full of Roshambo wannabes now, huh xD

Thanks for your useless replies. I didn't even know who Anomen was, lol. However, I do think BG had better combat than any TB CRPG I've ever played.
xD xD responding to my vapid criticism and dismissal with anything approaching sarcasm is being a Roshambo wannabe xD xD ^_____^

You're being rubbish. Go read the recommended RPGs/Must Play Games thread if you actually care about anything beyond being pointlessly contrary. Honestly, folks like FeelTheRads here call me a nextgen shitlord who loves Call of Mass Erections or whatever because I don't spend my time being negative about everything and would rather have positive discussions about things I like. You want a constructive conversation, I'll give you one. But you're being rubbish.

The combat in the IE games is better than in most turn based CRPGs, including the Gold Box games, anyway. Just use the auto pause and learn the limits of the path finding, and it's close enough to turn based to make no matter.

You really think? I always considered them about tied with GBs, except I have to babysit pathfinding and I can't autofight the true trash combats within a second or two instead of waiting through pseudoturn after pseudoturn

I don't understand this moaning about RtwP.

Because it's not good at anything but bad at both fast action and tactical combat?

It can be good at both tactical combat and, by strategy game standards, fast action.

Take dragon age 2, add 2 more party members, completely redesign encounters and enemies, tweak the character system, replace aggro mechanics with something better, add a decent overhead camera mode and you have a RTwP RPG with near perfect combat.

There is no problem with RTwP games that is inherent to the system.

Just install MPrilla's SUPERSCRIPTS, put something weighty on the spacebar and watch as your party cuts through those Gnolls faster than you can say Drizzt do Urden.

Yes, that's what it was about. People "preferring" one over the other rather than thinking RTwP is the son of Satan. I'm glad it's RTwP myself. Not because of the minor advantage it has when it comes to trash mobs but because of all the butthurt it's causing.

The turn based system in FO 1 & 2 made combat fun. I enjoyed massacring underpowered enemies as much as I enjoyed taking out the more challenging ones.

I'm not sure how RTwP will give me the same joy.

This thread is so Codex. Not enough open racism and furry-loving weeaboos yet, but no doubt that'll come.

Fallout 1 (I refuse to play 2) only had decent combat because it was easy if you knew what you were doing and there were a lot of cool looking death animations. I enjoy it for the same reasons I enjoy Doom 2 but it's hardly a pinnacle of turn based tactical combat.

Damn they have autolooting? Having a nice GB-like list of loot pop up after a fight for me to pick through without huge volumes of mouse-and-inventory-fucking would make both the IE games and NWN2 immensely better.

I don't think it will reach $4 mill but hopefully it will equal Wasteland 2 and DFA at around $3 mill.

Now we can bitch all we want about RTWP but let's not lose sight of the real issue at hand. The Biodrones are coming.

Swarming over this project with their grubby fetish driven hands- already there is demand for a console version on the Obsidian forum and plenty of mainstream sites are dubbing this a "Baldur's Gate Spiritual Successor" (THIS NEEDS TO BE MORE THAN JUST BG DAMN IT!). No doubt we'll get demand for emotionally engaging companions that we can romance and some clap trap about transgendered options for the player character and their companions (look, excessive pandering to an increasingly depraved audience without the ability to actually discuss gender politics on a mature level is part of what ruined Bioware in the first place). We're going need an Eternity Vigilance thread soon.

With MPrilla's SUPERSCRIPTS you hardly needed to play the game. I never tried them myself, if working as advertised they would virtually play the game for you.
