Im not extrapolating anything. that was literally told like that. As i say.

The only who is extrapolating - and out of your asshole, not from any data at all - is you.
All this time.

and dont think i dont get what youre doing, dumbass.
that pathetic schtick where you stubbornly hold for those overblown polite answers, while youre just preparing an easy

You said the Godlike were individuals that were god touched, from which you somehow concluded they were going to be omnipresent withing the game world. That's not a fact, that's your extrapolation of facts, any information on how common the Godlike are is yet to be revealed.

You also arrived at the conclusion that there are no gods of opposing alignment, that the gods are universally worshipped by the world inhabitants and that hence the idea that people will believe in gods but detest the Godlike is cringeworthy. Forgetting, of course, again that the only thing we really know is that there will be gods in the game + a few random examples of them.

I said that official explanation is that they are born in every race. Which means all races have such individuals.

And that they are something known. A known phenomena. Not something that just popped up. (did i use the word omnipresent?)

- if it was otherwise, it would have been stated as a significant point.

We also know gods are very well known to all in that world - very real - so there is no question about believing or not. therefore worshiped, in many organized and other forms.

- if there was anyone whose into atheism in that kind of setting - it would have been stated as something significant.

basing your stupid dumb attempts at counterarguments - on ignorance, not knowing something.
And on extrapolating nonsensical crap, whichever feels better.

ou also arrived at the conclusion that there are no gods of opposing alignment,
opposing alignments are not mentioned anywhere in explanation of Godlike - Where did you pull that one out of? HUH? does it hurt extrapolating so much out of your ass?

its not specific religions that hate specific godlike - moron - as we clarified already.

What is ACTUALLY said about it is - that all people hate all godlike, because thats like... the balance for some boring insignificant advantages. (why the fuck would anyone detest them or think they are weird or dangerous - if they dont have any powers or qualities or anything even remotely interesting except stupid anime masks and stupid hairdressers ffs...)

but go on, repeat the same stupid shit again a few more times. it might come out differently next time. It might just work. just repeat.

It depends on how the pantheon, their role in mortal society and their rivalries, how thier worshippers behave etc is handled. In present day India for example, rivalries do exist, sometimes resulting in violence, between members of the same race, ethnicity, caste and religion... but with different deities.
Point is lot of potential for interesting dynamics is there in a polythiest setting with a varied pantheon.

But yeah, Sawyer's reason for disadvantages for godlike "lol they look wierd lol" is quite lazy and dumb like many things in P:E. And most reaction to godlikes will be superficial, shallow and will probably feel very artificial for the sake of not overpowering them :balance: , if Sawyers reaction to the goons is any indication.

Jealousy? Or, just because they are different? I don't have a quote, but I'm pretty sure it was mentioned that while everyone knows that Gods are real, not everyone worships them. And it's Gods plural, so I doubt anyone believes that all the Gods are right and true, but that some are better than others, and if you're the wrong kind of Godlike...

With that said, it's retarded to say "all people hate all Godlike", that level of generalisation is stupid

im basically just saying that if the concept has to be in the game, it would be better if it it was worked on a bit more, in visual presentation and gameplay-setting-narative department.

just sucking low quality doesnt inspire anyone to improve a godamn thing.

I thought that there will be fun mechanical stuff like multiclassing, but Sawyer removes it.

At least the art looks good right? Floating rocks and :retarded: arches obviously copy pasted shoddily does the rounds.

And now they have animu death godlikes... and they seem very shitty mechanically. 2 stat bonuses (which replace those of the base race), inability to equip helms and a passive.

That is true (originally ubiquitous, not omnipresent), although I'd argue that as long as we don't know how common they are, we can hardly derive anything of value from this. If they were a distinct minority, it would be as good a reason as any for certain groups and individuals to dislike and exploit them. No matter how known a phenomenon they were.

We also know gods are very well known to all in that world - very real - so there is no question about believing or not. therefore worshiped, in many organized and other forms.

I'm presenting it just as a possibility, not as a fact. Given this, there would be a very real reason for some people in the world to dislike certain Godlike.

its not specific religions that hate specific godlike - moron - as we clarified already.
We actually haven't. The fact that everyone in that world knows the gods exist doesn't necessitate that everyone favours the same deities, as Chaotic_Heretic and Snozgobler rightly noted.

What is ACTUALLY said about it is - that all people hate all godlike, because thats like... the balance for some boring insignificant advantages. Come on, nobody said that. Only that they'll get ambivalent reactions throughout the world, which, again, may be fine or stupid based on the way the writers handle it.

Also, I believe you may have misread what Sayer wrote on the somethingawful forums. His
Some people don't like weirdos.
is a response to
My problem with the godlike is they're way too awesome looking, why would people play anything else?
Yes, the poster may well be a moron for calling the Godlike awesome-looking, but the point is that Sawyer isn't talking about the people in the game world not liking weirdos. He's talking about players.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Insert Title Here Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
So we've got over a thousand pages now. . what if some script could collect all the text, and we could make a book out of it?

Maybe we should call it:

"Fuck cRPG's. Just give up already."

How is that bad? Every race gets 2 stat bonuses and a passive. Godlike passives will be better than the passives of the other races.

It's not like the IE games were full of must-have helmets. I doubt Josh is going to keep the universal "protection against critical hits" property (and they didn't even do that in IWD2) since that's at odds with his system.

And godlike doesn't have anything "extra" mechanically from other different races. A furry Godlike and a elf godlike is the same mechanically.

So sawyer solution the missing item slot in godlike is shitty itemization? 'k

Edited my previous post.

the godlike is mechanically similar to every other race, maybe passives are slightly better, but doesn't justify ;losing an item slot IF there are good helms.

And what is a monty haul?

And what is a monty haul?
Suppose you're on a game show, and you're given the choice of three doors: Behind one door is a car; behind the others, goats. You pick a door, say No. 1, and the host, who knows what's behind the doors, opens another door, say No. 3, which has a goat. He then says to you, "Do you want to pick door No. 2?" Is it to your advantage to switch your choice?

It's called the Monty Hall problem. If you keep the same choice, you have a 1/3 chance of winning. If you switch your choice, you have 2/3 chance of winning, doubling your probability. It is important to note that the host always opens one of the doors with a goat behind them.

The intuitive answer is that both doors have a 50% chance of winning and a lot of people can't see any other interpretation. However, you have to think of the doors as sets instead of individual doors.

In the classic three door version, think of two sets A = {doors selected} and B = {doors not selected}. Set A contains one door, the one originally picked and set B has the remaining two doors, so the probability of set A of containing the winning door is 1/3 and the probability of set B of containing the winning door is 2/3.

Next, the host gives you free information, telling you that one of the doors in set B is not the winning door. But there as still two doors in set B, except that you know for certain that one of them does not contain the prize. Sets A and B retain their probabilities, so it is in the player's advantage to switch their initial choice to the remaining door in set B.

In the context of RPG's, Monty Haul refers to giving players excessive loot (that they need to haul) for doing trivial tasks, like on a game show.

Doesn't really mean that the helmets need to be shitty, since the benefits of a fixed stat bonus should scale with the character making up (in theory) for the missing headgear slot.

Curious. I was just going to ask what the connection btw. a combinatorial thought experiment and itemization problems of a non-race in a cRPG was.

there is no mention of that in the update. dont pretend its an actual thing.

if something like that is added - it will be one of the improvements i was saying should be done for the concept. One of. A basic one.

Witiko

go back and read the exchange again, every time you repeat the same nonsense crap. since you like to spin in loops it should keep you busy for a while.

What I meant to say. So much potential lost when the update goes over the disadvantages of the godlike. Sawyers approach to everything is to work backwards mechanically from :balance: , instead of building on the lore and implementing potentially cool fun stuff.
