"With D&D's extreme specialization this results in monty haul loot."

No.

I had a campaign go on for 2-3 years and we never got a weapon over +2. So, why do you bullshitz?

P.S. if you think POE won't be 'monty haul' compared to pnp you are an idiot. Every single CRPG ever created is monty haul. Every single one. Period.

I just think Sawyer is lawyer and doesn't want to think about things so he takes the easy way out that fixes nothing.

I mean who really cares?

I'd guess the people who care are the players who make choices that, due to design's carelessness, lead to frustrating, dead-end gameplay experiences.

A campaign that was custom-tailored to your players, rather than a set amount of content that had to accommodate countless potential build possibilities, hmm why would these two things be different

Speaking of weapon swapping, one of the things I liked about IWD2 was how characters switch both weapon slots at once, so that characters using a shield or dual-wielding could equip a bow or 2H weapon without opening the inventory screen. I'm sure that by now, this feature is a no-brainer, but it took until the final IE game to include it.

Too bad if you wanted to use that shield with two different weapons though, because you had to go to your inventory and manually switch them over. I'm sure PoE will have proper loadouts though, and that was just something that got thrown in the too hard basket at the end of the super short development cycle though.

I asked about some of the weapons we don't know about yet:

Like pikes, quarterstaves can attack from a greater distance. Hatchets grant a small amount of bonus Deflection, and battle axes do more damage on a Crit.

Apparently there's an enchantment cap on items. Probably can't chuck anything on it once it reaches Superb quality ?

Upgrading costs ingredients and, more importantly, money. You can keep upgrading an individual item. It will just cost a bunch of money and eventually you will hit the enchantment cap.

"Sounds rather Dark-Soulish."

Sounds like nearly every RPG that allows you to enchant your own weapons.

And,a s for weapon sets, it's not new. FFS NWN had them. In fact, you could have like as manyw eapon sets as you want if you could carry the equipment (and with the ridiculous over the top too much inventory space you get) that's quite a lot to the max of your quick slots.

IE weapon slots were okay but that had some lame limitations. ie. If you had a weapon and shield or two weapon set you couldn't have a bow or two handed weapon in a quick weapon slot (or vice versa). L A M E

I think he means groups of items you switch between. Diablo 2 did that, you had two sets you could switch. Blackguards does it too.

So does NWN. You cans witch weapons just by clicking a quick slot. Youc an easily go LS/SS to M/C to W/SH to LB and abck again with one button press. Weapon sets. Not new.

Oh, okay, I thought he was talking about the weapon proficiency system. Like something that would let you make your own custom proficiency "set".

No entertaining the possibility of a console port here, unlike those clowns at inXile and Larian.

Of course turn-based games are hypothetically much easier to port than rtwp.
