I'm completely in love with the CYOA sections.

Roleplaying options looks great too. Dialogue seems nice and a lot of skill checks etc.

Art looks great as well, immersion is there.

Combat will be as in IE games, not worse but only slightly better. Was hoping for more improvement but it will be decent for me anyway.

All in all it looks very very good. There is just no comparison to this game currently. Yes blackguards and D:OS have nice TB combat but thats it. This seems to specialize in story, roleplaying art and C&C. So it fills a nice niche. Its definitely for a more hardcore audience then D:OS though.

Animation and character models look like shit.

Everything else is promising and I'm super hyped for it.

But man those two fixes could jump the game to a higher status

Pretty underwhelming tutorial area, but it's a tutorial area so I guess I can't complain.

The only stuff that I really liked was the fact the tutorial NPCs can actually die. Thank god for that much.

I didn't catch mention of it in the videos and articles I've watched and read thus far, but are they planning on releasing a world editor of sorts? Modding capabilities?

Divinity: Original Sin Divinity: Original Sin 2
After watching&reading comments I reached some conclusions:

1. Why the hell anyone making an isometric game would want to use anything but 2D backgrounds? It looks amazing.

2. The only way not to make real time with pause combat not suck is by making it challenging.

3. After the constant circle jerking around here about Divinity: Original Sin being a masterpiece (although is a semi-mediocre game), now the Codex turns against it because Pillars is detrimentally compared with Divinity by the retards out there. Classy!

4. Codex has more graphix/animation whores than should be allowed by the common sense.

5. Making an account here should require knowing what Darklands is. !!$@#!!~$%!@#**

6. Bring Hiver back you twats! If not, I'll settle for Rosh.

The line of sight seems a little short. Also, the field of view is somewhat small.

I'm pretty sure The Temple of Elemental Evil was less claustrophobic and had smaller character models. Played at a proper resolution the infinity engine games certainly have a much wider view.

Uh...doesn't this apply to every kind of combat?

The line of sight seems a little short. Also, I feel the camera should be placed higher up as default.

You can zoom out, they played in the 'zoomed in' view.

I enjoyed the little text adventures in Space Rangers 2.. Looking good in this game, too.
NO ROMANCES?! lulz.

Don't care that it's RtWP; I'm excited to experience more sleep deprived work days when this sum'bitch gets released.

Josh said:
just a few days ago we discovered two bugs affecting attack speed. first, armor was not properly slowing down recovery between attacks. second, interrupts (hit reactions) were zeroing out the recovery bar, meaning you could act immediately after being interrupted regardless of where you were, recovery-wise. so the pace will be a little slower in the backer beta/final product.

Yeah of course there's far worse handholding 'out there' but I didn't kickstart any of it. And that doesn't make it ok anyway. Also I don't buy the 'but it's a tutorial level' explanation because there is no tutorial in what I saw: those are not general explanations about the mechanics or interface of the game, it's guidance for a specific puzzle. Not needed, not wanted.
I disagree, it's a HEY DUMMY PAY ATTENTION TO ENVIRONMENTAL CLUES FROM NOW ON IN THIS GAME warning. I doubt they'll do it again.

That area was as tutorial as it gets when it comes to introducing the basic concepts of what you'll be doing throughout the duration of Pillars of Eternity.

DOS is definitely classy. Mediocre would be SRR or Wasteland 2.

To make realtime with pause combat suck is by making it challenging??? What does that mean?

"DOS is definitely classy."

How does a game become classy? DOES. NOT. COMPUTE.
