what's the point of continuing to argue with retards on the obsidian forums ? kickstarter is over, what's done is done. those boards became irrelevant the minute the game entered pre-production.

The game designer hopefuls are crawling out of their holes:

http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/61980-volunteer-labor/

I brought this up months ago on the BSN, and some of the devs on the Dragon Age team considered it a bit, so I'm wondering--would it be possible or helpful to offer volunteer labor for the most tedious, low-skill aspects of the game? I'm talking about, say, writing blurbs for books you can find in dusty corners, or writing journal entries or bestiary entries or any of those myriad of tiny details that can really flesh out the game but are a huge drain on the valuable time of devs who need to be doing things like writing character dialog, designing plots, creating cinematics, etc.

Well, that's a good thing, no?

Well fight the good fight (and complete ignorance) with your voice. I did. And I even RAGE posted. Then looked at what I was responding to, and uh deleted it.

Let's see how Merin replies to my post, he has no idea how thoroughly I've thought about these things :D

Edit: and yes, I'm quite possibly mad as a hatter.

Obsidian would still have to read everything that has been "outsourced". They also need to have good contact with whomever is writing, and a way to keep track of everything.
Anyway, even with a ton of writing required, I don't think it's a huge burden on Obsidian. Writing is (supposedly) one of their stronger points, no?

There. I rest my case.

Anyways this is Obsidian's SMALLEST budget they have worked on. AND they don'y have to waste tons of Biowarian CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE™ bullshit (like thay have to with Published games). Just good classic IE content.

Depends on who is doing the writing. Merin might get delusions of grandeur, for example.
It's a biodrone for fuck's sake, there's no "depends" :x

What do you guise think, should game ask motivations for the actions or keep them completely out of the game?

Quoting this because I think it got missed with the post approval system and all.

I see my interview is finding it's way around the internet.

I posted a thread on the Project Eternity forums asking if anyone wanted to contribute to the questions, this was one of the requests that one of the posters asked for. I don't agree with it myself but the aim of using that comment was more to try and provoke a comment about the map style that Sawyer was looking at going for. In hindsight I should have just asked that as a question.

Personally I hope it's exactly like Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale. A large tactical map where I can navigate to if I want to move my party to a location on the map without scrolling, and that I can have open while I watch them move on the screen.

I just wanted to know what other things you thought were derps (Not taking that negatively per se, some of the things I can probably explain). Glad you liked some of the questions though.

Nice to see someone who cares for feedback. I very much liked that interview.

Well, if they can use biodrones as slaves to do mundane tasks, why not?
:troll:
I can think of a few uses. How about a power plant? Except instead of coal they can use these volunteers.

Like in Pink Floyd's video for Another Brick on the Wall where the kids are walking to the big machine what makes them mash?
