Didn't you hear man? Simulation is bad design
I'd think you'd be better of taking a mage class and picking martial feats than picking the warrior and picking magical feats based on the snippets released so far.Wonder if using heavy armor is a must as a warrior, id like to play like a kensai.
Kensais are not mages, they are warriors that search for a higher level of mastery with their weapons by leaving behind anything that may encumber them. They use their weapons for offense and defense, and they rely on their heightened senses and speed to make up for the lack of protection.I'd think you'd be better of taking a mage class and picking martial feats than picking the warrior and picking magical feats based on the snippets released so far.Wonder if using heavy armor is a must as a warrior, id like to play like a kensai.

Propably. Sawyer said that he would like to be able to import your characters in the sequel ala BG/Gold Box gamesInfinitron
Gonna take advantage of your vast knowledge.
Do you know if any/all of the inxile and obsidian proyects will support new game+ or character importing.

I imagine they will move the second game to diferent regions of the world, so you will have the same character with diferent companions, and every game will be stand alone with a bigger arc hidden in them. Maybe i'm wrong, but since propably every NPC will be killable, i cannot imagine them trying to pul a mass effect thing. And we saw how well that ended.Propably. I wonder how they will handle companions and stuff like that so as to maintain awesome "I knew them from last game"-feelings but avoid Jaheira + Minsc in cages no matter what you do.

Some people aren't fans of our overall Attribute design, which I've focused on always providing benefits to characters of any class even if that means the Attributes aren't very realistic. If you want to make a Strength-based rogue, that's viable. So is a Strength-based wizard, an Intellect-based barbarian, etc. As with taking Talents, you may be de-emphasizing some core aspect of your character by using a non-traditional Attribute array, but there aren't class/attribute combos that are fundamentally bad.
Yeah, we're doing head and shoulders portraits because it will allow us to do many more of them. Also, it's generally easier for players to match a portrait to a variety of character concepts if the body/equipment isn't visible. The IWD/2 "knees-up" portraits were cool but very time-consuming. On IWD, it took almost all of Jason Manley's time on the project just to generate the portraits.
wouldnt call it barbarian, would call it savage, and untapping the power of your body by using your own emotions isnt a bad idea, anger, hatred, fantatism, passion, they can be powerful tools when it comes to doing physical stuff. If you were born smart and are able to see it from a logical standpoint it only makes sense, especially if some kind of training is readily available.I'm not as hostile to Sawyer's ideas as some of the people here, but that really doesn't make any sense. Why would someone who's intelligent decide to become a barbarian rather than something more suited to their skills?
Isn't that quoted post up there by Sawyer? You're all assuming there's going to be an "Intelligence" stat in the first place

The way they work or the way they are named though? You can have an inteligence stat and having it affect damage output for exampleIsn't that quoted post up there by Sawyer? You're all assuming there's going to be an "Intelligence" stat in the first place
I interpret that as a hypothetical example. He hasn't actually revealed what the attributes are, but he has said they aren't very realistic.
Or int affects the number of active abilities you get, and have to use them intelligently while a strong dumb fighter would just smash shit with a few abilities. So you larp you are very smart about anatomy and strike where it hurts more or some shit because your attacks now scale off int?
