Maybe the supernatural event is what turns you somehow into a watcher, and you try to find how that happened and with what purposeYeah IMO the player is a Watcher and their being a Watcher gives them a unique view on the supernatural event (which is probably soul related) and the player has to use their ability to see lost souls and travel to various locations throughout the Dyrwood/Eir Glanfath and communicate with lost souls to find out what the fuck happened/why it happened/consequences etc
Vithrack seem like Mind Flayers.
They've never been considering it.
“The others are… as we have been listening to people, we are coming up with ideas. For instance, there were a lot of threads about an insect race. At first we weren’t really thinking about one, but it’s definitely worth the conversation. That’s how we want to do it. We’re seeing what’s there, and what people are talking about, and then discussing it internally.”

Josh Sawyer said:I was really just ripping off the Bard's Tale spell Mind Blade (MIBL) that would tear through groups of enemies in sequence.
Soul Whip's Psyche damage is short-term. It can be used with ranged weapons, but ciphers can only benefit from it at relatively short range.
Actually, no one illustrated during the the KS campaign is a confirmed companion. Keep in mind that I generated those character ideas on my own without input from anyone else. While some of them will be appearing as companions more-or-less as you saw them in the KS campaign, some may appear in a different guise, some may appear as non-companion NPCs, and some may not appear at all.
Sawyer's pretty set on avoiding utility characters. Every class is supposed to be equally able to tear it up in a fight, though some might suit certain party compositions better than others. So you're probably not going to get a class which is both very high damage and very high survivability.Hope there are more hybrid classes, id love some sort of fighter/rouge focused on high survivability/damage on par with fighters and rouges but without on useless stuff like stealth/tin-bucket-hats/autoattacking/agrograbbing(lol).
There is such a thing as Psychic fags, and they tend to make psionics the most overpowered thing ever, and its plagued a lot of systems i know. If used well psy powers can be cool, but i really cant bring myself so see psionics as a class, not seriously anyway, i see psionics as something highly developed minds can have access to regardless of background or training.i really hate the mind-reading stuff when it's so overpowered. it's sort of like time-machine plots and its tropes. they never can explain everything and plot holes abound.
i really hope the "cipher" is severely limited in what it can do from a story perspective: they better not be OP archons of the mind.
