RPG genre is a power fantasy and story of archetypal hero with few exceptions. Traditionally, a hero archetype is male, strong, and noble. He has to overcome obstacles, suffer defeats and tragedies before he will overcome his foes and marry a beautiful maiden in the end. Nothing wrong with the archetypes and myths. The problem arises when the modern entertainment writers try to "subvert expectations" and produce dismal failures. Since the Russo-Ukrainian war was already mentioned how many Russian or Ukrainian women became war heroines instead of becoming refugees in Poland or Russia?
Eowyn the Shieldmaiden of Rohan is the archetypal heroine in the legendary LOTR but the feminists hate her and never mention her. Why? Eowyn loved Aragorn unrequitedly and went to war seeking death. She destroyed the Witch-king of Angmar with Merry's help and then she fell in love and married Faramir, becoming a healer. We need more heroines like Eowyn in RPGs and everywhere in entertainment.
