Agree. Did they ever say that was planned as part of the release, like they did with b'tran?

B'tran was dropped on us about 1-2 days before season 7 was released, but Dilithium removal from STFs been since Season 7 hit Tribble.

But the thing is we complained and we complained and eventually they said it was not a removal but a reduction, if I recall it would be 480 in Normal and 980 in Elite so its was less but it was something and then Season 7 launched with NO rewards outside Marks, no Dilithium and no loot so I do take this as being lied to, I will bring this up every time one of those developers goes to the forums and says something I am pretty sure its to fuck us up.

Edit: Dig around and found a pretty damning post:

STFs will still reward Dilithium and there will be an Omega Rep project that converts marks into Dilithium, so we're replacing it, not taking it away.

In addition, we're adding Dilithium drops to all Fleet Actions as well as some other new Events.

All of this in Season 7

I cannot be be "fair", first is obscuring the queue with the "new and improved" UI so we have no clue how long do we have to wait and then the fact STFs dont reward Dilithium as they had at least 2 weeks to solve that, like they did with Neurals not dropping and Marks not being awarded so I am not taking this as a "bug" but rather being lied to by CHILDREN since did they think we would not found out when it gone to Holodeck? do they really thing the New Romulan Griding Zone would sweep us away when we already see it on Tribble?

Just read through the latest dev blog, cleared up a lot of my misconceptions about the changes they've made to dilithium. I tend to stay on the "it's just a game meh who cares" side of things like this, but I can definitely understand why people are raging at some of this stuff. Has anyone played a fleet action since yesterday? How much dil do they drop?

And thanks for explaining the Azure mission, Slop. Makes perfect sense.

1100.

But they are bugged ... people join, leave, join again until at one point it settles down but there is automatic kick going on since I tried joining one after the timer reset and I gone in and it auto-kicked me out, something is definitely going very wrong with them.

After massive rioting, and the fact that people are farming the shit out of SB24 because you can drop into the middle of a raid (And almost certainly lose), but gain dilithium, they are putting the dilithium back on STFs and nerfing the Fleet Actions.

Of course, this means that SB24 is again not worth doing because you always land in the middle of someone's shitty raid and therefore probably autolose.

Well SB24 was farmed in the past for items, then it fallen out of favor ... now its back up because you just AFK and wait for the Tacts on Escorts to beat it.

And SB24 is not a raid, its just a fleet actions ... there are no raids in STO unless when the system bugs out and we get Feds in First City or Klingons in ESD.

So I'm not the only one? I think it only happened to me when I tried to join via 'join existing' instead of the quick play. IDK what's going on anyway, last I checked nobody on the official forums raised flags about that.

this is all really interesting to watch. The devs keep saying, "well our metrics say this and that, and this is why we made that change", but they either ignore or simply don't think about human nature or cause-and-effect/action-reaction when implementing this stuff. Do they ever sit in a meeting and say "well if we DO change that, how are the players going to react and what are they likely to do?" Doesn't seem like it based on this most recent shitstorm.

Their metrics said that their pointless rearrangement of shit had opened up a rather large dilithium exploit. This is why people had "more dilithium" and yet were still angry. You should have seen the number of "Working As Intended" jokes being slung around during that. Yes, people had more dilithium, and you know why, but they were still angry, because they knew it wasn't going to last.

Now, of course, even MORE of the game is broken and inoperable as a result, and there's no telling when/if/how it will ever return. On the upside, at least I was able to replenish my buffers, so I'll probably be able to handle this week-plus long drought, although it's going to require a LOT of restocking time to rebuild afterwards.

Ok, I am going to go on about the Steamrunner again since its supposed to be fixed and the Steam sale will go out soon.

First, with turn rate 16 the only Escort that can beat it is the Defiant (17) but the Steamrunner have more hull (34,500 vs 30,000) and a higher shield modifier (1 vs 0.9) meaning you get a lot more tanking with marginally less maneuverability.

Second, with its 2 Lt. Eng stations you can do damage control very well as few other escort can outside the bug ship (thanks it its Lt Unis), the Escort Carrier have a Lt. Cmdr station but less hull and less turn and the Chimera would have to devote its Lt. Cmdr station to Eng to surpass the Steamrunner and so lose out in Tactical Stations.

Third, its a 10 console ship (this also means, no Fleet version) meaning it only loses out to Fleet escorts and the Bug ship since the Bug have 5 Tactical consoles (5/4/1 vs 4/4/2).

Honestly though, it's not a huge problem to reach 8k dilithium daily. Yesterday I played for a couple of hours and in between two PvEs i managed to join, doff assignments and the lore daily I think I had about 4k. Doffs made me 1,5k alone, and my roster is pretty lacklustre, with one purple, a couple of blues and mostly greens. Some luck was obviously involved but most players have probably much better doff rosters than I have.

Yes, it's a nice ship. If it were available in the Zen store, I'd hit that. But I ain't touching Steam. Steam is filthy, unclean spyware.

Generally I don't think the outrage is about making Dilithium but the fact a lot of stuff cost enormous amounts of Dilithium.

Pretty much, before my problems that lead me to a long absence I just stop because I had want I wanted and it was a hassle ... then Season 6 come and everything eats Dilithium, Season 7 is more of the same.

In STFs the issue is the gear costs, without a Dilithium reward people are forced into a double grind for marks and Dilithium to pay for the gear as running STFs is not enough, if we add Fleets the whole thing is too many mouths to feed because the Mega Fleets Cryptic based their entire Fleet system on only exist in their dreams ... sure there are a some in STO but the majority of Fleets are like the Codex Fleet, we have some people around but forget about running projects back-to-back.

If they remove the Dilithium costs I would not give a fuck but its there and so I have to give a fuck and I have my hands full trying to get Omega Marks because Defera pays little and nobody groups there.

Yea, and it bears mention that compared to most people our fleet is a turbo-boosted high octane death machine. I'd imagine most fleets the size of ours get abandoned.

Have you all noticed that the current special project available for the Fed starbase is a dance club? WE MUST HAVE IT. Next step would be to figure out how to get the Orion strippers over there.

So I reached VA today, finally. Checked out Romulus and started on the two projects, ain't too excited about the missions available on the ground though - seems to be a grind after grind and an uninteresting timesink overall. I think I'll stick to fleet actions to get the marks, at least shit blows up there.

EDIT: I've been thinking about doing a major contribution to the starbase by selling my ZEN. I've gathered some 320 zen so far but I don't think I'll play this game long enough to get the Zen for a ship, getting more character slots is out of the question and other stuff is rather meh - also, in terms of future ship prospects I think I'd settle for the fleet advanced tac escort which doesn't require zen, only 4 fleet modules which amount to about 13-14 million EC on the exchange.

If I sell the zen 150 dil apiece That should be more than 45k dil. Just tell me on which project should I drop it.

Bros, I think I burned out already. I still might be up for a STF or two and will probably login from time to time but I guess the thing that always puts me off MMOs got to me: repetitiveness and not enough player-driven content.

Crap, it'd be really fun if EVE went F2P as that would get me to override my sanity checks. I think EVE was the only MMO I ever played with the potential to pull me in further (due to all the worthwhile content being player-driven content and the incredible fun of designing unusual fits and strategies).

Morn guarantees profitable business. It was only a matter of time before Quark started jewing out his hologram of him.

Speaking of profitable business, is there any market for the Tier 3 fleet ships? Should we open up a dealership?
