There seemed to be a lot of choke points on the maps I played though which meant a lot of spamming attacks into attack routes was taking place. I think a Team Deathmatch option would be nice to have to break this up a bit.

I haven't really experienced this anywhere outside of the beginning of the egypt map (the worst imo). Whenever there's a stalemate I usually switch to a flying or wall climbing character and flank. The maps are really open compared to most shooters.

the king of the hill map is a clusterfuck though.

For the sake of argument, how would you go about redesigning her if you wanted to keep a dedicated single-target healer concept?

I wouldn't. Or I'd give her the ability to spawn AI bots/totems that do the healing for her so that she can do other stuff.

Teleport is easy to handle if we handled these kind of speed in Tribes.
They didn't though. That was one of the biggest problems with T:A (mechanically) which led to complaints from the retarded community because "MUH speed" after they added the drag when you have the flag and made snipers a nessecity.

Late post, I'm actually waiting for this to come out; enjoyed the beta weekend quite a bit. The main thing that I like about this compared to TF:2 is that I hate how TF:2 actually locks game-changing content behind hours of grinding or pumping out cash to use better weapons and shit. Better that all the unlocked content be superficial like they've done here.

The buzz for this shit game has died down already post open beta, and it has not even been released yet.

When there's like a dozen people on the fucking Codex hyping and anticipating this game I'd say the buzz is huge.

Metro in a nutshell (applies to virtually any game):

This game is gonna be shit.

You think this game is gonna be good? You're retarded.

Can't believe you're looking forward to this shit game.

Game's trash, you're trash, and here are a dozen arbitrary criteria and subjective anecdotes that constitute incontrovertible proof.

6 months later....

Hey man, can you gift me a copy?

Now that's what I call consummate professionalism.

Overwatch is a fun game hampered by retarded decisions from Blizzard that drag it down.

20tick servers,
70 max fov,
mediocre map design

Fix these three issues and I'll love it.

How low is the skill floor/ceiling for the game and does competitive play exist? Because it seems that everyone keeps mentioning how they are wrecking shit, how they are pretty good, etc. Also the term "casual shooter" is also floating around.

I've played competitive/PUG/MGE sniper in TF2 back in the day and around top ~10 in a country server but I eventually burnt out. I'd like to invest in another team shooter and am thinking if Overwatch can scratch that itch.

Eh, TF2 didn't have game-changing content that are locked behind hours of grinding. Most of the best weapons are stock only. Most PUGs/Comps use stock and other items are only sometimes used. Sniper comes to mind, and so does Soldier. Even then, grinding for one weapon is basically quick due to 1:2 trades.

I think I read that they plan for some kind of competitive/ranked mode to be included later, but I don't recall seeing anything like that during the beta. Lack of a server browser (to my knowledge?) may make it a hassle to set up PUGs and stuff like that.
I heard TF2 is also doing some kind of official competitive thing soon?

- low (very?) skill floor
- high enough ceiling
- it's pvp everyone wrecks at some skill level
- going to have competitive mode soonTM after release (though at their speed probably gonna be ironed out in 1-2 years)

The more I played of this game the more I liked it and now I'm considering buying it. I think it's the best the only good thing Blizzard made since SC2. The problem is that none of my friends want to blow 40 euros on this so I am on the fence - playing alone would get boring fast, I'd imagine. What do you guys think is better - Overwatch or 10 pizzas?
