While I would agree that generally Lucio is more valuable to the team as a whole because of the insane mobility he provides, Mercy is a burst healer/damage booster that has her place. I don't think she needs a redesign at all, perhaps her mobility skill could use a slight buff (higher speed or something), but otherwise I think she's just fine.

I disagree with Mercy being fine. She's jank compared to Lucio. Even most of the high level players agree that Lucio outperforms Mercy in every way. She needs a redesign.

Bringing Lucio down to Mercy's level would be better than raising Mercy to Lucio's level. Strong healers would make things incredibly frustrating in this game, you want fast paced engagements that end in seconds not minutes long WoW arenas.

Nah, lucio just needs his AoE reduced so ne needs to stick closer to the team, and possibly the damage of his gun reduced a little.

It seems like every single game that has an aura hero/item tunes them for 1-2 teammates and they end up dominating with 5+.

If you really wanted to boost Mercy - and I'm not really saying you should - there's 2 things she could use:
1) Give her another 50-100 hp so she's a little harder to pick off.
2) Make her beam stronger, but taper off in strength if kept on the same target for more than a few seconds. keep it at low effect if you switch to the same target before a few seconds have passed. That way, Mercy players could be rewarded for smart target selection. Instead of just AFKing in a corner with a beam on Bastion

Pharrah needing a buff, just lol. Maybe stop with the armchair game design after couple hours of play.

Am I the only one who finds the lack of anything except superficial unlocks (spray paint, emotes, stances, skins etc) unappealing?

I understand new weapons/powers create balancing issues but I find it much more interesting when an unlock opens up a new gameplay experience rather than something that's purely cosmetic.

What should they add though? Cosmetics are fine. If you reward good players with better guns, mechanics and stuff like that, they only get better compared to lower levels so it ends up hurting the balance. And they can sell cosmetics, lootboxes and ingame currency.

Beta nearly over. And I just found out the 3 legendary skins I got for characters I actually liked playing will be lost after beta. What a shame.

Mercy needs a redesign from the ground up because her gameplay is poor and dull to begin with. Nerfing competent characters to compensate for poorly made ones is bad form.

Mercy is essentially the TF2 medic, sans bonesaw, but with on-demand kritzkrieg and a built-in rocket jump.
For the sake of argument, how would you go about redesigning her if you wanted to keep a dedicated single-target healer concept?

Mei is top troll. Had a guy on defence pick her and wall his team behind all the choke points at the start, giving the enemy half the map for free.

Also super handy for helping your team bypass Thorbörks and Bastions

Symmetra's primary fire is so bad I wish there was a "suicide" key. She really is one of the worst heroes now after they nerfed her shield buff.

Yes. What is wrong with having all "gameplay experiences" available from the start? If you're playing a game to unlock new shit and not because the gameplay is fun that means the game is probably shit.

The unlock treadmill is really one of the worst cancers of modern games.

I like the idea of her primary, with the damage build up, but at least it needs some range. And her alt is way too slow. I'm not sure why she's bunched up with the healers, a tiny shield buff isn't really healing anything.

The banter in this game is just too weak though. Being used to something like TF2, it's simply too tame. I guess the T rating plays a part. And there aren't too many lines either.

I like tracer. I'm a useless piece of shit but my k/d is always extremely high because she's close to unkillable. :positive:

Don't despair - just grind a bit and you can unlock new dialogue!

I played a bit more last night and I guess the game is fun enough - it would certainly take a while to master all the different characters. There seemed to be a lot of choke points on the maps I played though which meant a lot of spamming attacks into attack routes was taking place. I think a Team Deathmatch option would be nice to have to break this up a bit.
